J. Carruthers, MD Dr. Carruthers brings over 20 years of experience in treating patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, at his practice, officially known as J.

Texas native and board-certified Family Medicine physician, Dr. Todd Carruthers specializes in preventive care, chronic disease management, minor surgical procedures, and cosmetic treatments (including SculpSureยฎ and BOTOXยฎ) in Allen, Texas. Todd Carruthers, MD. Raised in his parents' native state of Iowa, Dr. Carruthers returned to Texas after completing high school to attend Southern Methodist U

niversity where he graduated cm laude in 1991 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Biology. He returned to Iowa for his medical education at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, graduating with an MD in 1995. He completed his residency in Family Practice at the Quad-Cities Genesis Family Practice Residency Program in Davenport, Iowa. During his final year of residency, Dr. Carruthers served as Chief Resident. Upon completion of his residency in 1998, Dr. Carruthers moved back to the Dallas area and practiced in Richardson and Plano before relocating to Allen and establishing his private practice.

In Texas from 2009 to 2018, 13,592 people were killed in crashes involving an alcohol-impaired driver. That is 4,000 more than any other state.

Heavy alcohol consumption reduces brain function, impaired reasoning, thinking, and muscle coordination. All these abilities are essential to operate a vehicle safely.

Due to national shortage of sotrovimab from the federal government, the monoclonal antibody that can decrease the risk of severe disease from the COVID-19 Omicron variant, regional infusion centers across Texas will not be able to offer treatment until January.

COVID-19 is once again quickly spreading in our communities. The Omicron variant now accounts for 90 percent of new COVID cases.
