While often celebrated in the United States as a day with festivals, food, and music that highlight Mexican culture and heritage, Cinco de Mayo is more about honoring resilience and national pride. However you choose to celebrate, we hope today is full of fun and celebration! 🎊🎉

Now Accepting New Clients! Please join us in welcoming two new therapists to our team:
✨ Amanda Pearson, LPC-Associate
✨ Sarah Wolfe, LPC-Associate
(both supervised by Jennifer Smith, LPC-S)

Amanda and Sarah bring extensive experience supporting pre-teens and teens. Coming from the public school setting, they especially love working with educators and truly understand the stress and demands of the education world. (Teacher appreciation week does not go unnoticed at 246 Counseling!!)

Sarah & Amanda work with clients ages 7–99 and are excited to step beyond the school walls to serve the broader Forney community through in-person sessions, and virtual sessions across Texas.

To learn more about Amanda and Sarah, check out their full profiles on our website: https://246counseling.com

Help us give them a warm welcome—we’re so glad they’re here! 💛

The good news is, healing is possible. Check out Tiffany Keith's latest blog post on seeking therapy for sexual abuse. Reaching out for help can be hard, but not nearly as hard as carrying the burden alone... We're here for you. 972-439-5297 / info@246counseling.com

Vitamin D plays a quiet but important role in how your brain handles emotions. It helps regulate neurotransmitters like serotonin (often linked to mood and well-being), supports overall brain function, and reduces inflammation, all of which are factors that can influence how you process stress, sadness, and anxiety.
Low vitamin D levels have been associated with mood issues like depression, which is why getting enough sunlight, diet, or supplements can sometimes improve emotional balance. It’s not a cure-all, but it’s one of those foundational pieces that helps your brain stay more resilient.

Take some time to sit in the sun this week!
