We were delighted to welcome back this repeat client! While the previous pregnancy with us was pretty uneventful, in this one we discovered gestational diabetes and a baby eager to be born. We all worked together to manage with diet, supplements, and exercise to keep things healthy. Welcomed him earth side quickly and smoothly! It’s a beautiful thing to see a family complete. 🙏🏽

Second May baby was a fun story! Mom, an RN, came to care just a few weeks before birth. Got to 41 weeks, hanging out pre-labor at 5cm! Got things started with a membrane sweep, but still no active labor. We did a manual rotation of baby’s asynclitic head the next morning and labor began straightaway! A few hours later we got to pushing. Baby did have a shoulder dystocia which resolved with some position changes and maneuvers. Although we hope for smooth births every time, we are grateful to be able to assist when needed. 🙏🏽 Midwives save lives!

Loved getting to know this family throughout their pregnancy! 🌈 👯‍♀️ When baby was breech at term, we went over every option, risk, and benefit, with the moms. Two ECVs showed us he just wanted to be butt down! While our usual M.O. is to plan a home , they decided a was right for them. Informed choice means you choose! Welcome baby!

Happy belated Father’s Day! 👨🏻 Sorry guys, my birthday was on Father's Day this year so we are a little behind on this one! We so appreciate all the dads that are helpful, supportive, and involved with their partners and babies! We showed this dad how to use the in labor and he was on it for hours until mom got in the pool for pushing!

🌈 This baby is a particularly special June baby! 🌈 Made by two moms, the midwife, and a donor, he made his entrance on the first day of ! This little one is our first baby to go to term, and it was such an honor to see his life from conception to birth! Birth story to come.

Whew, May was a busy month for us. The less you hear from us on here, the busier with babies we are! Our first May cutie came to us right on her due date. She had her own ideas about how to be born—two days after water broke, no labor, and some signs that she needed to be born, a cesarean birth was the best course of action. Mom handled the changes with grace and was a patient rock star surmounting breastfeeding challenges. Welcome baby!

What should I do with my placenta?
Traditionally, the placenta was buried. It can symbolize our connection to the land and the earth. And practically, it makes great fertilizer! This pomegranate tree grew with the nutrients from a dear client baby’s placenta! Now five years later, it is producing its first fruits. ❤️🌱 🌳 What did you do with your placenta?

Dear repeat client welcomed her fourth baby, second with us, late last month! It was as magical as it looks. Big sisters and brother came in at the last minute as mom explained to them, “Head’s out… last chance to guess if it’s a boy or a girl!” 💙🩷💛

Our Story

Anissa Sartini, Licensed Midwife and Certified Professional Midwife. I am currently accepting clients! Midwives provide full prenatal, birth, and postpartum healthcare, as well as physical, emotional, and educational support. I provide a combination of modern evidence-based and traditional herbal and midwifery care. I specialize in first births, VBAC, trauma informed, and LGBTQ care. All faiths, races, ethnicities, classes, and abilities are welcome in my practice. If you or anyone you know in the greater DFW area is pregnant, trying to conceive, or has a newborn, I'd love to work with you! I work on a sliding scale for all services so that I may serve families from all income levels. On a case by case basis I accept high risk doula clients who cannot safely birth outside the hospital.
