What a month kids. Okay, for my family, it’s been a year.. So whatever you are holding this day whether it be the joy, the hard, or the inbetween….
May you know the height
May you know the length
May you know the breadth
May you know the depth
Of the steadfast love of God
In you and through you and with you
All the days of this life and the next
And may you be an instrument of that Love Toward your family
And all those you work with
And all those you care about.

What a week, kids. I know many of you are just beginning to find your ground. Holding so much. I am reminded that in my voting lifetime, America has been close to a 50/50 split in presidential elections. And there is no “winner” when anyone feels their values and beliefs are discarded and disrespected regardless of “party” or election. We realistically live in the purple.

So here we are. And what do we do next?

Empaths, your body is on fire; honor it. My beloved blue and purple friends, notice it all and feel it all and keep loving. My beloved red friends with beloveds you love who are blue and purple, love them and honor them. My beloved blues who love beloved reds, love them.

At the end of the day, it is only love that transforms. We stand in this moment. In all that it asks of us. In gratitude, grief, and sorrow. And we all have choices and roads to walk for the life and love we want to leave behind for future generations. The Holy in the universe loves all Of us and all of Us. Read that again.

In the end, love always wins. Love is a verb.

Sacred travel shows when you least expect it. After 9 hours on the road with my mom, you make a reservation hours before your late arrival, to an unknown lodging, with low expectations, you arrive exhausted and you notice it’s an Amazing historic hotel (fav), Our Lady everywhere, all the trinkets of things you collect are there, the same toiletries from another favorite sacred place in the most magnificent Sicilian blood orange scent, the pillows are literally your favorite kind, and you wake up with gratitude to see the infamous shell (Camino) on your bed, your beautiful cousin making a surprise appearance, the best coffee and green chile quiche, and the aspens and cottonwoods in full glory. New Mexico for the win.

God comes disguised as your life. - Paula D’Arcy. Mine came as a mothertrucker. Not “the” as in singular, but “a” as in one of many to come. Oh fun. (My English friends give me grace, I have cog issues now. 😂 ) Whether it’s a mountain or a hill, sometimes the incline or distance can tap us out when our capacity is low. Most people see that magnificent sky at the top and the path floating to infinity, and it’s so close. This was one of my not favorite personal hells. I think we named it a Grande. The gift that kept on giving when you turned the corner only to realize the road only went up, again, and again, and again. And sometimes when we were soooo close, we doubted we could even make it. And so is life… with chronic illness and so many more things like simply living. Some days, weeks, months, and seasons are just mother truckers. So, if this rings true for you as it does for me today, cheers to the next right step and keeping our eyes on the dirt ahead. We got this. Even if we need to stop, rest, and even cry (or scream) for a while. 🧡 Big love.

Lessons from the Camino: Live

Live your life,
Your one wild and precious life.
You have been given this moment,
It is precious.

Tomorrow is not guaranteed—
The next hour, the next minute.
I stand in shoes so many would trade,
Just to have this moment,
To simply breathe,
To feel the ground,
And take in this day as it is now.

Life is in the now,
God is alive in the now,
Everywhere.
All you have to do is pause,
Breathe, notice.
Take it all in,
Everything—
Everything belongs.

Blessing the Dust

All those days
you felt like dust,
like dirt,
as if all you had to do
was turn your face
toward the wind
and be scattered
to the four corners

or swept away
by the smallest breath
as insubstantial—

did you not know
what the Holy One
can do with dust?

This is the day
we freely say
we are scorched.

This is the hour
we are marked
by what has made it
through the burning.

This is the moment
we ask for the blessing
that lives within
the ancient ashes,
that makes its home
inside the soil of
this sacred earth.

So let us be marked
not for sorrow.
And let us be marked
not for shame.
Let us be marked
not for false humility
or for thinking
we are less
than we are

but for claiming
what God can do
within the dust,
within the dirt,
within the stuff
of which the world
is made
and the stars that blaze
in our bones
and the galaxies that spiral
inside the smudge
we bear.
