Blueberries π delicious and full of great benefits.
When the blueberries are on sale, I like to buy a big container and eat fresh blueberries with my breakfast and throughout the day. I freeze half of them and enjoy them as a nice alternative to ice cream later. Little frozen bites of pure goodness.
Some researchers suggest that the nutritional value of the berries diminishes when you freeze them, however, that is still being debated. Either way, I love frozen blueberries!
Do you love blueberries? Do you ever freeze them?
What's your go to summer snack?
Book yourself a relaxing hour away from the heat. Leave your stress on my table and go enjoy your week.

Y'all have fun and stay safe!
Balance yourself
I have a lot to say about this. Keeping it short, if you are asking your massage therapist for anything beyond a therapeutic massage, YOU are a problem. If you insinuate anything more than a massage, YOU are a problem. If you engage in any way sexually in the treatment room, YOU are a problem.
We are educated professionals. We work hard and already deal with way more than you know. Do not make our jobs harder. Don't disrespect us or our profession by even asking the question. This is not okay.
Research has shown that CBD products may help reduce inflammation as well as joint and muscle discomfort. Are you interested in CBD products or adding CBD cream to your massage? Let me know what you think. Is this something you would like to see me add?
Who else loves the scent of bluebonnets?
Brent and I went flower looking yesterday and were not disappointed. The breeze carried the sweet scent of bluebonnets through the car before we could even see them. The whole area was just beautiful.

Happy Earth day!
I hope you get a moment to spend in nature today.
Did you know:
Just by simply petting a dog you can reduce your stress levels?
By reducing stress you can lower your blood pressure, relax muscle tension, slow your breathing, lower heart rate, and increase oxytocin production.
It is also really hard to not smile when petting a dog. Research also shows that holding a smile (even when you're faking it) tells your brain that you're happy.
So next time you see a little furry friend, do yourself a favor and show it some love.
Have you moved your body today?
Research has shown that walking promotes the release of brain chemicals called endorphins that stimulate relaxation and improve our mood. Walking does not have to be done at a fast pace to have stress-relieving benefits. Even a stroll at a comfortable pace promotes relaxation, studies indicate.
I hope you are all taking time to relax on this beautiful Saturday afternoon!
When I was a little girl, in the early 80's, my Dad was a massage therapist. He worked at a fancy club and had big name clients. We went to the gym as a family in the mornings. We were in a happy place.
After I was out of highschool and had spent a year goofing off, it was time to make decisions for my future. Massage therapy was an obvious and immediate choice. It was in my blood.
When signing up at Texas Massage Institute, I was told that I should have a backup plan. That the career span of an LMT was 3-5 years. "You have to really want it, have passion, intuition, strength, and endurance. It won't be easy" I was told.
They were right, but I wasn't going to let that stop me.
I passed with an average score of over 100 ( I like extra credit). Passed my state exam at the top percentage, and immediately started working at Massage for Health. After the first 3 years of my new career, I was the only one out of my class still working as a full time massage therapist.
I worked for chiropractors, kinesiologists, nutritionists, and spas.
After jumping around the field to find where I fit, I opened Deeply Kneaded Massage in March of 2007. Working for myself felt like the best option. After all, I am from a family of entrepreneurs.
Thank you to my parents for helping me through school. Thank you to my amazing teachers for giving me the knowledge that I needed to survive in the industry. Thank you to my clients that have supported me (some from the very beginning). Thank you to my husband for standing by me through it all. Thank you to God for the intuition that is required in this profession.
I feel blessed all of the time.
Heads up, I will be unavailable March 4-9.
I will be celebrating the lives of the two women most dear to me. My Mom and my second Mom. It is best that I am in a peaceful place of reflection for this. There are a few appointments left before I leave.
I am trying to make sure all of the appointments I scheduled while I was away got saved into my scheduling app. Apparently, at least one did not. Let me know if you texted me to schedule between the 8th and yesterday so I can confirm your appointment.
I am back in town. This morning was full of catching up on voicemail and email that I missed. My reception was very spotty on the first half of the trip and non existent in some places. If I missed you and haven't gotten back to you, I'm sorry. Hopefully everything is synced up properly now and my schedule is back on track.
Just a reminder, I'll be back in the office on the 17th. Next appointment available is on the 21st.
I will be in Mexico celebrating my 40th, chasing butterflies and catching waves February 7-16. I have no more available appointments until February 23rd.
I hope you all have a fabulous Valentine's day.
I have a few available appointments for the first week of February.

Just a reminder to take a moment to just be still. Take a few deep breathes. Think of something you are grateful for. Smile.
Small little breaks throughout your day will help ease stress. In turn you will feel better, sleep better, and focus better.
.
.
Next available appointment September 27th.
I hope you are all having a great start to your week!
Remember to take a few moments for yourself today. Just breathe and take a moment to be grateful.
Self care for me sometimes means a long drive through the desert with no cell service and my honey.
What do you do when you need a break from the madness?
Wishing all the Mothers out there a very special day!
