✨ California Tour • Event 4/11 ✨

What a beautiful afternoon of chai and conversation shared in the warmest of company. This private gathering was co-hosted so thoughtfully by and Kay Sheth, who welcomed me and Dal Chawal with open hearts.

A heartfelt thank you to Kay for opening her beautiful home, and to Vandana—my fellow RD, sister in spirit, and dear friend—for lifting me up and creating the space to share my story. Together, they invited such a gracious and welcoming community, making the afternoon feel like family.

It’s in intimate circles like these, over cups of chai and heartfelt conversation, that the spirit of Dal Chawal truly shines—connection, nourishment, and the joy of gathering. 🌿☕📚✨

✨ California Tour • Event 3/11 ✨

What a soul-nourishing weekend it was at Feast & Flourish in 's healing sanctuary. Together we shared a meal, learned, and connected through an Ayurvedic feast that was as much about wisdom and community as it was about food.

We closed the evening with a Vedic Fire Ceremony, honoring the Fall Equinox and the sacred time of Pitru Paksh. Sitting by the flames, offering prayers for our ancestors, and igniting intentions for the season ahead was a powerful reminder of the eternal thread that ties past, present, and future.

My heart, belly, and spirit feel deeply replenished after this gathering of food, ritual, and community. Joan, thank you for holding this sacred space with me—you are truly a soul sister. And to all who came, shared, and tended the fire with us, I carry your warmth and energy with me as this California journey continues. 🌿🔥✨

✨ Feast & Flourish ✨

I’m so excited to be heading to California next week, and deeply grateful to begin my Dal Chawal book tour in the healing sanctuary of my dear soul sister, of . When I visited Joan last winter, I was embraced with such love and generosity by her community—it planted the very seed for this tour and I can't believe how beautifully this has all shaped up.

Together, Joan and I have created two very special afternoons of food, ritual, and community:

📅 Saturday, Sept 20 — Seasons of the Soul
🌿 An afternoon of Ayurvedic wisdom and renewal, flowing into an elaborate plant-based dinner prepared by both of us.
🛍️ A soulful Mingle & Market, featuring treasures from beSPICED and handcrafted offerings from Dakeeni Apothecary.
🔥 We’ll end the evening with a sacred Vedic Fire Ceremony, honoring the Fall Equinox and the holy time of Pitru Paksh—a space to offer gratitude to our ancestors, set intentions, and welcome the new season.

📅 Sunday, Sept 21 — Savor & Spice
🥘 A hands-on Ayurvedic Culinary Masterclass in Joan’s warm home kitchen—for those longing to dive deeper into Ayurvedic cooking and experience recipes that blend family tradition, timeless wisdom, and modern nourishment.

This weekend is more than an event—it’s an immersion, a celebration, and a reminder of the sacredness of gathering.

Curious about Indian food but not sure where to start? August always feels like a fresh chapter - full of possibility, celebration, and a little chaos too. It’s my birthday month, back-to-school season, and a time to say yes to joy, take new chances, and soak up time with my kids before routines return.

Since the book was released this spring, it’s been a season of beautiful momentum -- book talks, cooking demos, TV segments, generous reviews, and heartfelt tags from readers across the country and even across continents. This summer, I let myself slow down, spending more time in my own kitchen, cooking just for joy, and savoring the quiet. These little moments, these everyday meals, have been filling my cup in all the ways that matter.

And now…I’m ready to step back out and share more of Dal Chawal with the world.

✨ California, I’m coming!
Starting September 18, I’ll be heading to Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Bay Area for the next leg of the Dal Chawal tour—bringing stories, recipes, and conversation your way.

💛 💛💛 If you're in California, or know someone who might want to host a private event, author gathering, or bring a community together around food - please reach out. Let’s bring Dal Chawal to as many tables as possible 💛💛💛

Swipe through to see what’s been simmering lately in my kitchen. From slow afternoons to shared plates, this season has reminded me how much beauty lives in everyday cooking.

Immigrant voices carry more than stories. They carry strength, memory, and the quiet courage to keep going.

Last night was a powerful reminder of the stories that surround us. Listening to the journeys of my fellow awardees and standing among them was both humbling and deeply affirming.

To receive the Immigrant Journey Award with my mom and kids by my side and dear friends in the room was incredibly special. In a time when so many immigrant families are facing fear, barriers, and invisibility, this gathering felt like a quiet act of affirmation.

Our stories matter. Our journeys matter. And showing up for ourselves and each other matters.

Thank you to for creating a space where immigrant voices are not only seen but celebrated. Thank you for hosting the awards gala at your inspiring facility. And to my friends who came to stand beside me. Thank you for holding me through this journey.

✨ Honored. Grateful. Humbled. ✨

I’m incredibly honored to be one of the recipients of the 2025 Immigrant Journey Award—a recognition that feels deeply personal and meaningful.

As a first-generation immigrant from Mumbai, India, this journey has been about honoring where I come from while building something meaningful in the place I now call home. I came here to pursue graduate studies in nutrition, worked as a clinical dietitian for years, and slowly began shaping my path—founding beSPICED and writing Dal Chawal as a way to bring together tradition, healing, and home.

This award feels like a full-circle moment—not just for me, but for the quiet strength behind every immigrant story. The early days of uncertainty, the longing for familiarity, and the determination to build something meaningful from it all.

💛 I’d love for you to join me at the Immigrant Journey Awards Gala as we honor these shared journeys and celebrate community, resilience, and culture.
