Speech therapy, especially in the early years looks like play because that's EXACTLY what it is! Purposeful play! Though it may look as though we are simply making animal sounds, singing silly songs and crawling around with your kiddo, there is so much more going on behind the scenes! We are establishing an important rapport that will facilitate a safe environment to learn in, modeling turn taking skills that are foundational in communication and so much more! Never underestimate the power and value of play!
