A heartwarming reunion involving a patient took place at Parkland Health this week. Jude, a 15-year-old traumatic head injury patient and his family came in to thank the Neuroscience and Surgical/Trauma staff for caring for him. Earlier this year, the motocross rider from Pennsylvania sustained an injury while competing south of Dallas. His mother, Jennifer, says their Parkland care team became their family for the three weeks he was here. đź’ś

Thanks to the "elves" from Junior Charity League for bringing cheer to Parkland Health Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation patients! A giant stocking stuffed with love and care was given to each PM&R patient as they spend the holidays in the hospital.
Junior Charity League has been supporting Parkland rehab for more than 50 years. We are grateful for their generosity in giving more than $2.7 million to provide equipment and other needs to help rehab patients recover and go home.

Purple hardhats and shovels were present for a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the expansion of Annie’s Place, the drop-in childcare center managed by Mommies In Need used daily by Parkland patients and staff. The expansion will include multiple classrooms, a play therapy station and the Annie’s Place Outdoor Playground and Learning Environment. Parkland Hospital opens new clinic in Red Bird area
Same excellent health services but with a brand-new name. The newest of Parkland Health's health centers in Dallas County will now be known as the C.V. Roman Health Center, named after Charles Victor Roman. Dr. Roman was a pioneer of the African American healthcare community who spoke out against racism and encouraged African Americans to become healthcare professionals. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the ribbon cutting of the new Jubilee Park Community Clinic! We are proud to partner with Jubilee Park & Community Center and Jewish Family Service, Dallas to expand access to healthcare and wellness services in Southeast Dallas. The new clinic will offer primary care, dental and mental health services for people of all ages. It is projected to serve 3,500 patients in its first year and close to 7,000 patients per year after!

Due to the extent of their injuries, patients in the Parkland Burn Center can stay in the hospital longer than most other patients. Thank you to Sons of the Flag for donating items to help make the hospital stay a little easier and information on support services for burn survivors. They also donated stuffed animals to the children in the burn unit!
