This Valentine’s Day, Girl Scout Clara Coppinger is making a difference in a truly special way! As part of her Gold Award project, Clara handcrafted nearly 250 braille Valentine’s to ensure that individuals who are blind or visually impaired feel the love.

Inspired by her grandmother’s connection to Envision, Clara’s project didn’t just stop at Valentine’s—she also educated 1,800 high school students on visual impairments and raised awareness through a library display. Her dedication to inclusion is inspiring!

Thank you, CBS News Texas for highlighting George Mendoza and his works at Envision Dallas. If you didn't get to see it on Christmas eve, watch it here.
George's art is displayed at our new location and we welcome everyone to experience the vibrant paintings of this extraordinary artist who is blind but sees the world in colors.

George Mendoza, who lost his sight at 15, channels his unique vision of colors into his art. He sketches his dreams in black and white each morning, then brings them to life with vibrant colors.

Keela Alonzo, one of our employees who is blind, recently won the award for Little Wishes, a program offered through WFAA and Sam Pack's Auto Group that helps people in need. Her husband, Ed Alonzo, also an Envision Dallas employee, nominated her for the award.

This award will help Keela with money she needs for eye surgery. Congratulations, Keela!

Keela Alonzo's Little Wish is granted after her husband nominates her for a special surprise.

Vision loss can take many forms. Recently, our Occupational Therapist, Karen Kendrick, found a creative solution for a patient with severe scoliosis who couldn't lift her head to see forward. Karen inverted Bed Spectacles, typically used to look downward, allowing the patient to see straight ahead for the first time in years!

Thanks to Karen's innovativeness, the patient has expressed how grateful she is to finally be able to watch TV again, see her caregiver in front of her, notice obstacles in front of her, and more!
