During our
- Autistic people's-
acceptance month.....

you thought it would be SOCIALLY APPROPRIATE

to post a sponsored ad

about how people who parent us
get divorced

Because they are so stressed out by us...

and you didn't stop to think maybe we are reading this
and
you are hugely insensitive person?

"HEY I know you get bombarded all year and especially April by things that make you feel like you're garbage, and I know your su***de rate is super high, but here's more talk about you with out you.

You cause divorces.
Happy acceptance month"

Really.

Really.
The pandemic has caused financial hardship for many families.
For divorcing families, these challenges can be compounded.
Sharing this insightful article by one of my favorite collaborative colleagues, David Brunson, about the best way to navigate this tricky situation.

In honor of the TexasBarCLE 14th Annual Course Collaborative Law: Building Better Collaboration, this week we are sharing resources and insights on the benefit of Collaborative Divorce.

#Collaborative Divorce Texas #divorcedifferently
Fighting vs. Solving.

A collaborative divorce is about setting aside the fighting to focus on the solving. One key component is the neutral financial professional who helps both spouses understand the family finances and the marital estate. No "hiding the ball" with assets, and no expensive and cumbersome "formal discovery" that can significantly raise the cost and conflict in a divorce.

Happy to be working with financial neutral Joelle Hinds on a collaborative team, and happy to share her wisdom from the Collaborative Divorce Texas website.
Why are premarital agreements helpful to those entering marriage? Is there a good way to talk to your partner about a prenup without a fight? In what ways can the collaborative process help couples finally prepare for marriage? Dallas family law attorney Aimee Pingenot Key covers these questions and shares advice on helpful ways for couples to plan for a successful future using the collaborative process.

2nd Post of the Weekend:
The annual Collaborative Law course connects like-minded divorce lawyers and allied professionals. This year I had the pleasure of getting to know Jonathan Friday, Cristi Trusler, and Amy Lambert of Austin. Good people make good divorce lawyers, and these three are good’uns.

Sharing a great blog post by Amy Lambert that explores whether parents should stay in the same house during their divorce. There is a common misconception out there that staying in the same house is good for the kids. Take a look at the pros and cons . . .

Weekend Over-posting Alert!

I just spent two days at the TexasBarCLE/Collaborative Divorce Texas annual conference. I am energized, inspired, and re-committed to bringing compassion, hope, and creativity to my divorce practice.

This first post is our awesome GoransonBain Ausley team at the conference. The firm that learns together grows together!

And yes, that is my son Max Shane Donald in the back row. Our Austin office is lucky to have him on board while he applies to Law School!

#DivorceDifferently The Collaborative Divorce Process is different because it enables the couple to create their own customized divorce, focusing on protecting their families and preserving their resources and assets through solution-oriented, interest-based negotiations.

There are no court hearings, it is less stressful, and the final outcome is better for the couple, their family, and their estate.

Divorce Proceedings; The Impact of Email, Texts and Social Media

Did you know that texts, emails, and social media can have a significant impact on the outcome of a divorce?

Patterns of abuse, a person’s character, or even wrongful acts can be found through the years in these electronic databases or also shared computer content.
