“Can I just wear one hearing aid?” It’s a common question but for most people, the answer is two. Wearing two hearing aids improves sound localization, reduces listening effort, and can even help ease tinnitus.

Your hearing is unique, and the best solution depends on your individual needs. Learn why two hearing aids may be the better choice and how they can improve your daily life.

As you can see, there are several reasons why two hearing aids are likely more beneficial than one. However, all patients’ needs are unique and an audiologist will help you determine which hearing treatment is best for you and your needs. Schedule an appointment with an audiologist.

Otosclerosis is an inherited condition that causes abnormal bone growth around the stapes the tiny stirrup-shaped bone in your middle ear responsible for transmitting sound. Over time, this bone can become fixed, limiting its movement and leading to conductive hearing loss.

This condition often develops in the late teens or early twenties and can progress slowly over time. In some cases, otosclerosis can also affect the inner ear, leading to nerve-related hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing in the ears).

If you’ve noticed gradual hearing loss or persistent ringing, our team at Dallas Ear Institute can help with diagnosis and treatment options tailored to you.
