🌼 Wellness practices are meant for everyone and can be easy to implement, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, income, or social status. “The lack of representation within the wellness industry is palpable, from practitioners and advocates to brands that seemingly cater to only one type of audience — wealthy, white Westerners,” writes Ciares. “Wellness is not for the privileged few. Wellness is a state of living that applies to all living creatures — humans, animals, and plants. And the most popular wellness practices have been practiced for millennia by people all over the world.” Ciares’ own healing journey from debilitating physical conditions to vibrant health have fueled her desire to share specific wellness practices, like alternative medicine, affordable plant-based whole foods, lazy-proof movement, nature, and music, to help people of all backgrounds. She encourages us to trust ourselves to determine which practices are best for us.

💮 Money has been the domain of men. My father gave my mother an allowance, and she had to ask permission for anything additional. This is often still the case today. Money is about self-empowerment. My guest focuses on helping women understand their beliefs and attitudes about money, achieve a harmonious relationship with money, and develop a deep sense of abundance, thereby creating enduring wealth from within. "At a deep soul level this book is really about a rite of passage — an awakening for women to take action to reclaim their feminine connection to money as a source of empowerment, love, wealth, fulfillment, and success,” writes Meriflor. “The phrase feminine connection to money points to an understanding that there is a natural connection between women, generosity, and leveraging money to help others. And when women reclaim and embrace their feminine connection to money, the results can be remarkable.”

🌷 AFFIRMATION🌷

My new affirmation is: “I am made strong, whole and healthy through the light of the Divine within me and all around me.” To heal your mind, body and emotions, imagine your body being filled with lavender light from the heavens and the earth, then say: “I am made strong, whole and healthy through the light of the Divine within me and all around me.”

🌱 I used to say that the worse place to live was in my own head. From the outside looking in, everything seemed perfect. I had done what I thought I was supposed to do to be happy, and I wasn't. I would look at my impressive resume and feel no joy, only what I still hadn't accomplished. At some point, I decided that I had had enough. It was time to find a new way of looking at the world, a new way of thinking. Somehow I had to turn the kaleidoscope, to find a new philosophy, a new way of being. During this search, I came across A Pocketful of Miracles by Dr. Joan Borysenko. She made meditation simple. Not only simple, but structured. There was a daily thought accompanied by a prayer or practice. This led me to the spiritual path that I am on today. Dr. Joan was one of my powerful teachers, and I am very grateful that she agreed to be on the show.

💫 ARCHANGEL SHEILA💫

This week I am going to introduce you to Archangel Sheila who is the Archangel over emotional healing. She can help you ease and sometimes even eliminate your emotional pain. Ask for her help daily in addition to whoever else you pray to.

Use your own words or say something like: Archangel Sheila, I give you permission in a positive way only to help me release my self-judgment about the chronic pain in my back.

You can even be more specific and say something like: Archangel Sheila, I give you permission in a positive way only to help me release the guilt I'm feeling about my son's financial failures or the anger I feel toward my daughter when she yells at me.

The more specific you can be, the more Archangel Sheila can help you.

Pay attention to signs, synchronicity, and new information. This is a process, not an event. Trust that she is helping you--because she is.

🐦 The women's movement of the 1960's initiated a new wave of change for women. In many ways it was liberating, which was the intent. The downside was the belief and expectation that we could do everything all at once. We added career to an already too busy agenda of being a wife, mother, housekeeper, volunteer, and care-giver for extended family members and pets. Any time we may have been able to squeeze in for ourselves was now gone. The word "no" seemed impossible to pronounce. I remember noticing a pattern of getting sick at the end of any week with 3 nights of meetings after full days at work while raising a young family. Someone told me I wasn't taking time for myself and I naively said that my volunteer work was for me. I didn't even know what it meant to take time for myself and to discover what I enjoyed doing just for me.

🌳 Claire Myers Owens left home at 20 to chart her own course, seeking adventure and freedom. With no role models, that was easier said than done. The expectations of her parents, spouses, and society held her back. The banning of her first book embarrassed her. She believed the judgment that it was risqué and apologized saying she was young. Later in life she realized how important her book was and that society’s judgments were the problem. She hoped one day someone would understand and re-publish the book. My guest, Miriam Friedman, did just that. She then became Claire’s biographer, determined that the modern world know about Claire, who persevered despite the constant road blocks. Claire became a key figure in the Human Potential Movement along with founder Abraham Maslow. Toward the end of her life, she found comfort through her spiritual search for meaning, joined the Zen Center, and became a voice for their teachings.

🌹 Chiropractic care is more than you think. Although the focus is on the spine, the profession has grown over the years. Most practitioners add certifications to form their unique style of diagnosis and treatment to provide optimal health care. Such diversity makes it impossible to lump all chiropractors into the same bag--and what one's training is helps to determine how one views the patient, the symptoms and the health concern. One practitioner told me that he doesn't look for a disease; he looks at what is wrong and determines what tools will be most effective to correct it. As Bernie Siegel said, those tools can include kindness, support and love. When you combine the wisdom of Chinese Medicine with chiropractic care, you get a unique perspective that allows you to diagnose and treat health problems in a substantially different way. Add all of Aldo's other certifications to that and you know, you are in good hands.

🌈TIP OF THE WEEK🌈

Carry Rose Quartz.

Rose quartz is emotionally healing in a gentle way. Wear a piece of rose quartz jewelry or carry a small piece with you in your pocket or purse.

I also rub it over the areas where I am experiencing pain because it absorbs the pain. I then rinse it under water to remove the negative energy that it absorbed. When there is physical pain, emotional pain accompanies it. We judge ourselves for having the pain, for not being able to overcome it, or for being responsible for it. We feel guilty for the way our pain effects our family and relationships or for being a burden or for a host of other reasons. You fill in what upsets you the most about the chronic pain you experience. The problem is that all of this self-judgment causes more stress, which causes more inflammation, which causes more pain. And sometimes unresolved emotional pain is the source of the physical pain in our body.

Emotional pain is an energy, and it must be acknowledged, felt and released. All too many of us grew up in homes that did not allow us to express our feelings, especially any upsetting feelings. So the best we could do was bury our pain. As an adult, though, we have a choice. We can keep denying our pain, but that doesn’t make it go away. That just forces it to do its damage under the surface where no one can see it until it erupts as chronic pain or illness. Research has proven this. In fact, numerous health problems that manifest in adulthood have been shown to begin as a result of childhood abuse. Because the abuse took place so many years before the physical problems began, most doctors don’t make the connection. When we know the root cause, not the diagnosis, but the actual cause of the pain, we can use that to relieve or eliminate the pain.
