Great information showing how specific nutrition practices affect our circadian clock which affects quality of sleep which affects overall mental and physical health! It’s all connected!
New research shows that what we eat can influence our internal clock. A recent study in Frontiers in Nutrition found that macronutrients like fats and carbohydrates affect the expression of key circadian genes (CLOCK, BMAL1, and CRY), which play roles in metabolic and lipid regulation.
The takeaway is simple: eat in sync with your body’s rhythms. Focus on healthy fats and balanced carbohydrates earlier in the day, keep evening meals lighter and more protein-based, and maintain consistent meal timing to support optimal circadian and metabolic health.
