Hello everyone!

As a fellow diabetic, Iโ€™m taking lead in a research study that myself and many others will benefit from.

We are conducting a market research study with folks and parents of children with Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes, or high blood pressure. If you fall under one of these categories, weโ€™d love to take you through a questionnaire to see if you qualify. Looking for people who are 18+ and parents with kids under the age of 17.

If you qualify and are invited to participate, we will be paying you $300 for 2.5 hours of your time.

To find out more or see if you qualify, give us a call at 469-341-5853 and ask for Donald. You can also fill out the questionnaire below to see if you qualify.

Do you know where to buy Medtronic pump supplies? Iโ€™m from Houston and left my stuff at home and am in Dallas until Monday. Any help would be awesome!

My name is Nickole, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on my 10th birthday. I'm 34 now and have discovered an incredible new treatment- this is my story.

I am 34 now and luckily have very few damage to my vital organs. But I still have to watch every single thing I eat, test my blood sugar 6-9 times a day, make sure I always have my pump with me, have extra supplies in case mine run out, make sure I always have sugar close by, feel sick either too high or too low 95% of my life, check my feet daily, check my eyes regularly, see my doctor every thre

Excited to have the opportunity twice this month to be at Trina Health for treatment.
Following my treatment last week I noticed a clarity to my vision. I can only describe my vision as "heavy". I feel like in the past few months I have been straining more to see clearly, but still not actually seeing all that clearly. About 12 hours after my last treatment I felt the heaviness had lifted. I could see more clearly. It lasted only a few days. It is not back to where it started, still much better than before treatment.
This last week I also noticed I am using less insulin. I bolused with my pump my normal amount and had a low. Following treatments I have to be much more careful to avoid lows. My insulin use decreases making lows more likely and more problematic for me. Testing is one of the most important part of being diabetic. So following treatment I just have to make sure I am testing frequently. Using less insulin is always a good thing... ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

I have had a few people ask so I wanted to give a few more details.
When you come in for treatment they will check your vital signs, including your weight. After that they start an IV and check your blood sugar. Once they get that part done they will have you breath into a machine to check your RQ ratio, then they begin the IV pump with pulsed insulin. There are three rounds of the treatments with frequent blood sugar monitoring and carbohydrate loads. My favorite is the plain lemonade drink. Following the three rounds of treatment they will do another RQ ratio. Then you are usually asked to get something to eat. Treatments usually take around 4 hours. It will depend if your sugars sty within their range to continue treatment. I have been in treatment a few times when it took longer because my blood sugar was too low to continue treatment so we had to hold the IV insulin for a little while.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support. I am happy to answer any questions I can, we all need the support that can only be offered by other diabetics and those who love a diabetic. If you have any specific questions related to treatment or want a free consultation they are great to work with and will do everything they can to help you.

Anyone interested in learning more about the latest in diabetes management needs to look into the amazing things Trina is doing.

FINALLY!!! I hate that it has taken me so long to get back into my Artificial Pancreas Treatments at Trina Health in Dallas. But so grateful I am here now.
Brief background I have been type 1 diabetic for almost 28 years. I am a mother of six children and I work full-time as a Nurse Practitioner. I make time for everything and everyone but often "forget" that I have a chronic disease. A chronic disease that if I play my cards right won't steal years of my life and won't take away the quality of life I desire.
How do I plan on actually living and controlling my diabetes? All the normal things... testing, eating right, exercising, 3 month follow ups, taking my medication, etc. As easy as that sounds if you are diabetic you know those things are anything but easy. Especially if you want to try and pretend you have the right to live a "normal" life.
I know enough to know I can't do this on my own. For the past couple of years I have relied on help from Trina Health of Dallas. The treatments they provide are monumental in managing the complications caused by diabetes. Although I don't go for treatments as often as I need, when I do go I notice a difference in how I feel physically. I am excited to post later today the impact of today's treatment.
Please contact them for specifics. I wish anyone who was diabetic, type 1 or type 2, had access to this treatment. It's life changing.

[10/10/15]   It's taken me a few days... But I was blessed to be able to go in for a treatment this last Wednesday.
It was amazing to see every seat in the center full. I am so glad the word is getting about about this amazing facility and treatment offered there.
It had been four weeks since my last visit. About a week too long.
These are some of the changes I noticed since my previous treatment:
1. I feel like a thin fog was lifted from my eyes. Things are just a little crisper. That's one of the first things I noticed almost two years ago after my very first treatment.
2. From my previous visit I have lost 4 pounds. I feel like I am eating more, but none the less, I lost. I feel hungrier but I feel like my metabolism has sped up as well.
3. Once again my glucose awareness is better. Instead of sensing at 30 I am back to sensing around 55-60.

I had the opportunity to share this remarkable therapy with a patient of mine today. I felt myself getting so excited that he has the information he needs to improve his health by visiting the center.

At this point in my therapy I am grateful to be able to space out my treatments a little more. I won't be back for three weeks. I am excited to see what my weight will do over the next few weeks.

It is so worth time you have to commit to going in to Trina Health to sit for the pulsed insulin therapy. Worth every minute, every finger stick, every IV, all of it.
The staff is just amazing and they know what they are doing. So grateful for them all!!

RQ testing... Means I am about done ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

[09/10/15]   It had been six months since my last treatment. Today they did things a little different, more efficient and more beneficial for us as patients. I think ๐Ÿ˜Š
I always experience some large glucose swings after treatment. But they always make sure I am prepared for a low should it happen on my way home from Trina. No lows for me today.
I know how crazy this sounds, but after my very first treatment ever the first thing I noticed was an improvement in my vision. I didn't realize it until today, but my eyes have gotten progressively worse after the last 6-9 months. Kind of like a light fog that makes everything a little less clear. Well... I feel like that fog has been lifted. I can't explain it really. But my vision tonight is crisper than it has been in awhile. Thank you Trina!! Can't wait for my next treatment.

If you would like more information on this revolutionary treatment check out my page and share... Everyone deserves this opportunity.

I finally made it!!! I have been trying to get into Trina for weeks now but just haven't been able to make myself a priority, guess that's what happens when you are a mom. But there comes a point where I know I am not any good to my family if I don't feel well. I am excited to get back in to getting more regular treatments at the Dallas office.
The staff is still amazing and so good at what they do. I am glad to see also how busy they are, that means the word is going out about this amazing treatment.
Personally I have been experiencing a lot of high blood sugars, some worsening of my vision, and my glucose awareness is not as good as it had been. I have needed this treatment and it's a huge relief to me that I am here.
I never enjoy getting the IV, but who does. It's a commitment to sit for hours getting treatment but I know the benefits far outweigh any cost.
Part of the treatment involves a glucose load... Those drinks can be hard to stomach, so they added jelly beans into the mix. I am going to rest during treatment and write more tonight after I am feeling the affects of the treatment.

Please call these guys if you or anyone you know suffers from type 1 OR type 2 diabetes or has complications because of the diabetes. These guys can and will help. You won't regret it.

[03/18/15]   I was able to go in yesterday for my third treatment since having my baby girl. I felt ready for the treatment. I had so much energy after my last treatment I felt like my energy level was starting to decrease.

The treatment went well. I got to see my Tuesday friend Cindy again. Sitting in the chair for a few hours you get to know the people around you. I am glad I have had this opportunity, they are some good people!!

Couple things I noticed since treatment #2 ...
1. I calculated my average daily total insulin (its easy, you just ask the pump what my "Daily Totals" are) since March 5th. Since my last treatment on March 3rd, I have used anywhere from 23 to 28 units of insulin a day. This is half the amount of insulin I was taking before I started the treatments back in December of 2013 with Trina. I was averaging 40-55 units a day. There are many days that I don't bolus for anything, no carb counting. I still watch what I eat and don't go crazy with the carbs, but I can eat a meal with a starch, a meat and, a veggie and not bolus anything. I have been relying a lot on just my basal. My basal is set for 23 units a day. I am using so much less insulin!!! I LOVE it!!

2. I only lost one pound since my last treatment ... a loss is a loss :)

3. I have experienced a drastic increase of hypoglycemic episodes since last treatment. I have noticed that the amount of carbs I use to take to treat say a glucose of 50 won't work. I have to about triple the amount of carbs I was taking to treat lows. Now a lot of the lows have come from me learning my body and trying to figure out how much to bolus for meals since my need for insulin has decreased so much. The majority of my lows were following a meal. Go figure! I know hypoglycemic episodes are a "problem" for me, so I just pay really close attention. It helps that since I started treatment my glucose awareness has gone from 30 to 65.

4. I always have really high sugar levels a few hours after treatment. Yesterday I was up to 436. Prior to treatments I would correct that number with about 10 units of insulin. Yesterday I treated it with 2.5 units of insulin and over 2 hours I came down nicely and felt much better.

5. I think for some reason I am more sensitive (hormonal) after treatment, might just be me. But then the next day I have this sense of indivisibility. That may also have to do with the support I receive from my husband at home. Especially on days I have treatment, they kind of wear me out.

I feel good. I am blessed to have this opportunity and will continue to journal my experiences with Trina Health and how the treatments affect my body for anyone who is interested and also for myself. This is an amazing thing I have had the opportunity to be a part of, just wish more people knew about the treatments and could experience the life changing benefits for themselves.

[03/03/15]   It has been 13 days since my last treatment... So grateful to be here again today!! Plus I got to sit next to my friend Cindy during our treatments.

Since my last treatment I have noticed a few different things.
1. I have lost 8 pounds since I was here last!!! At this rate I will be down to my pre-pregnancy of 118 before I know it!!

2. I had a huge influx of energy for about the first week after treatment. Kind of felt like I had taken a really long invigorating nap!! After about a week I had less energy, but still more energy that before my last treatment.

3. My vision is clearer, I can just see everything so much better.

4. I can sense when I am trending down at about 70-75. Glucose unawareness had been one of the biggest problems I have faced. But now I sense a low almost before it even starts!!!

5. I don't bolus for my meals anymore. I am using between 23-35 units TOTAL per day. Most of my insulin comes just from my basal rate. I find that if I do bolus, I drop too low and end up having to eat to correct.

6. My first RQ today was at a GREAT place!! Burning almost strictly carbohydrates.

I feel amazing and truly blessed that I have the opportunity to sit for these treatments. It is a good feeling to know I am doing something to improve my health, both short and long-term.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about these amazing treatments please tell them to contact Trina Health of Dallas.

[02/20/15]   What can I say!!! It's amazing what even just one treatment can do for you.
I remember after sitting for my first treatment back in December of 2013 I was exhausted. The treatments are somewhat draining. I was taking a bath and opened my eyes and realized how much clearer everything was without contacts. That's when I was sold on the Artificial Pancreas Treatments.
Once again, the evening of my treatment I noticed that although I had not changed my prescription and in fact I still had my same contacts in, I could see things better. Everything was a bit crisper. Along with noticing the improvement in my vision I noticed a huge burst of energy. I feel amazing, and I owe it all to Trina Health of Dallas. I love the people there, especially Jill. They are only ever interested in making sure I am feeling my best, all the time.
I would encourage anyone who has been thinking about starting treatments to stop thinking, and do it.
I feel so good!!
I can't wait until my next treatment.

02/18/2015

Finally!!! It has been 175 days since my last treatment... Way too long for me.

I feel like while I was coming in for treatments I was constantly seeing improvements in my health. When I stopped coming in for treatments I stopped seeing progress.
I was concerned that not coming in for treatments would lead to a reversal of all the improvements I had seen during treatment. I am so happy to say that all the improvements I saw during treatment have continued. No reversal of improvements. Now it's time to build on those improvements.

I have five little ones at home (11, 9, 6, 2, and 2 months). I work full-time. I stay busy all day, every day.
But I know the huge impact I see in my health when I make the time for these amazing treatments.
So glad I am here for again.

I know it's only a matter of time before I start feeling even better...

It has been awhile since I posted on this site regarding my personal journey with Trina Health of Dallas. I have not had the opportunity to sit for a treatment session for a few months now due to my new job and being pregnant. I delivered a healthy baby girl on December 16th and am hoping to get back into the clinic asap.
I feel like this pregnancy was the easiest on my body and least eventful pregnancy, of my six pregnancies, because I had been attending my treatment sessions regularly before conceiving. My body was prepared to carry a baby and grow a healthy child.
I am eternally grateful for these treatment sessions and am counting the days until I can get back in to see my friends again at the Trina Health of Dallas center.
Here is a picture of my sixth and last, baby girl Isabella.
