📣 A Message from the ILSb-ICBB Team

Thank you to everyone who has voiced thoughts, concerns, and questions, we hear you, and we’re committed to being transparent as we work to bring ILSb-ICBB back to life after five years of dormancy.

Our board is small but mighty, including 2017 ICBB winner John Urso as Vice President, along with a dedicated treasurer and secretary. As you can imagine, after years of inactivity, the coffers are empty, but we’ve been hard at work moving pieces behind the scenes to ensure this weekend is a worthy return for our community.

🔧 Here’s what we’re working on:
• A new website is in development to roll out details quickly.
• Applications for contestants are ready—we’re working on distribution!
• There will be NO entrance fee for contestants—we are subsidizing this to remove barriers.
• We’ve partnered with Beyond Vanilla, who graciously adjusted their programming to better align with our demographic, and they’ve generously given ILSb-ICBB full control of the Silent Auction to raise travel funds for our titleholders.
• We’re committed to evolution, honoring our past while creating something that reflects where our community is today.
• We strongly support regional contests and are looking forward to open discussions with current and potential producers to shape what’s next.

💬 We understand the costs involved in attending events, and while Dallas remains comparably affordable among major cities, we are doing everything possible to keep expenses manageable.

This journey isn’t without challenges, but we’re fueled by passion, community, and the legacy of those who’ve come before us. Please feel free to reach out with your questions, ideas, or if you'd like to help:

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Titleholders Past and Present, Staff and ILSb-ICBB family and friends, we wish to extend our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to International Leather SIR Sir Robert Miller on his loss.

Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts at this most difficult time and that like all families our arms and hearts are open to you.

ATTENTION:

To Our ILSb-ICBB Leather Family:

The Corona Virus is slamming our community, and the world, in ways we never thought imaginable. We have all, at one time or another, watched the news or read articles which have left us numb, panicked or bewildered. These are truly trying times for each of us, our families and our community.
In light of this situation, the Board of Directors for ILSb-ICBB, Inc. has delayed the 2020 Labor Day Weekend Event until 2021 Labor Day. This also holds true for Pantheon of Leather Awards.

This decision was not made lightly nor in a rush to judgment. We understand our Event is 5 months away; however, the financial and economic ramifications of this Pandemic will last longer than that timeframe. We cannot, in good conscience, ask our Regional Producers and Regional Titleholders to scrape together limited and scarce finances in order to attend the event. Nor are we, in good conscience, wanting to ask our Corporate Sponsors to redirect finances to our event, when they could and will be using those same funds to assist other organizations who serve our greater community with food, rent, utility payments, etc.

The 2019 Titleholders will continue with their titles and step-aside in 2021. The Board of Directors will work to raise the necessary travel funds the Titleholders will need moving into the new year.

After one of our Board Members spoke with Dave Rhodes, Dave decided Pantheon of Leather Awards will also be postponed until 2021. Dave, as well as the Board, was in total agreement to postponing the Awards as his concern is first and foremost the welfare of our community.

We understand there will be those of you who question our decision. Everyone has an opinion and we recognize and respect your opinion. However, with that said, the responsibility of the Board of Directors is to ensure we take care of our Leather family and their needs first; everything else is secondary. This is the moral guideline the Board used in coming to our conclusions as to how to handle the 2020 Labor Day Event.

ILSb-ICBB, Inc. and Pantheon of Leather are fiscally sound and already in the planning stages for our 2021 Labor Day Weekend Event. Remember, this situation is temporary and with each of us supporting each other, we will get through it stronger, wiser and more secure in the knowledge that each of us has individual value and should always be celebrated!
