Most people know their cholesterol. Very few know their Lipoprotein(a). And that number can change everything. ๐ซ
Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), is a genetically inherited cardiovascular risk marker. It does not respond meaningfully to diet or exercise. You can look lean, eat well, have โnormalโ cholesterol, and still carry elevated risk if this is high.
Up to 1 in 5 people have elevated Lp(a). Most have never been tested.
If you have:
โข A family history of heart disease
โข Early heart attacks in relatives
โข Stroke without clear explanation
โข โNormalโ labs but lingering concern
You should know this number.
This is precision prevention. Not reactive medicine. Ask your physician to check it at least once in your lifetime.
If you are a Diamond member, we already think about markers like this as part of your comprehensive risk strategy. ๐
