Dr. Red Alinsod completed medical training at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1990. He served a 12-year Air Force career with 4 active-duty years at George and Nellis Air Force Bases. He has practiced in Southern California and now in Texas and Nevada.

A little history for you. When I found these old pictures of my very first ThermiVa presentation it brought back so many mixed memories. I had spent the 2014 doing design work and clinical research on radiofrequency for feminine use. Traveling to Texas and Boston working with engineers and smart MIT guys. I finalized the design but had no name. Avery Colorado Pahls, one of the original brains for marketing and sales, came up with the brilliant name of ThermiVa. Heat for the Va**na! We did not have FDA approval yet. Everyone wanted approval for “va**nal rejuvenation.” That was too narrow so I encouraged pushing for the FDA to approve for “Dermatologic Conditions” so we could use our wand for dry skin, thin skin, insensitive skin, loose skin. That was the Golden Decision and we got the GO word from FDA the summer of 2015. That summer 9 years ago we decided to do a Hard Launch at the World Famous Aesthetic Show at the Wynn in Vegas. We came, glammed up, had a cool booth, I showed all my amazing Before and After photos, and won an award! One of the peaks of my career. What a start! Within two years Thermi was dominating everywhere. Viveve sued Thermi and me personally for patent infringement. They said that every time anyone treated the v***a or inside the va**na that we had to pay a “toll” because it infringed their patent. Their patent covered only the opening of the va**na! ThermiVa treated the outside and inside and did not focus on the opening. Bogus lawsuit. That took me out of the speaking circuit for 3 years and I vigorously fought Viveve. Viveve dissolved about a year or two ago. Now I work for no one and use only the best products and stuff that works and is safe. Now I am back to The Aesthetic Show to speak again and give thanks to the many who supported me the entire time.
The Aesthetic Show 2015 was EPIC! David Matlock and Marco Pelosi II were awarded Lifetime Achievement Awards. I won Best Cosmetic Gynecology Surgery Award. I launched ThermiVa. It was so HOLLYWOOD! The one and only time we were on stage together to win awards. Las Vegas Baby! Unforgettable.
The Aesthetic Show 2015 is a watershed event for Cosmetic Gynecology. I launched ThermiVa at this Congress. Mona Lisa Touch and Viveve also shared the limelight. Marco Pelosi II and III and myself put together their first Feminine Rejuvenation Symposium. Marco II and I both received special awards for our work. I remember presenting my case for L***a Majoraplasty to Manage Camel Toes! My daughter Samantha shared the memories with me and was my photographer. I go back to Thursday to The Aesthetic Show 2024, 10 year anniversary, and will present on Non-Surgical Feminine Restoration. June 23, 2008, a young and gentle hearted gynecologist, Alexander Bader, trained with me in Laguna Beach for the week. Very historical photo. In the summer of 2016, 8 years after training with me, he held his first ESAG CONGRESS in Rome. In November 2024 he will hold ESAG in Istanbul. Rome was the original and first capital of the Roman Empire. Istanbul was its last capital. All doctors who follow me are invited to this epic event hosted by the European Society of Aesthetic Gynecology under Alex’s leadership. I will be there to present my newest research. #

Almost nobody knows of my work before Cosmetic Gynecology’s birth about 20 years ago. I have always been a pelvic surgeon and fascinated with vaginal surgery. In the late 1990s I worked with several companies and got a few patents. In my opinion, the hardest patents to get and the most ingenious ones I came up with. And also the most work for the least gain when the FDA took most of what I had helped develop off the market. That was a heartbreak. Too many poorly trained surgeons tried to do complex cases with little to no training leading to complications and poor outcomes. In the well trained hands the success rates were exceptionally high and the actual complication rates LOWER than standard surgery. The one thing that survived is the sling and the ultralightweight Restorelle mesh. My shaped design actually survived with the launch a few years ago of a cadaver dermis called VNew Dermal Allograft.
