Lately, my family has been surrounded by death. So I asked myself, what do we know about death? Science does not have much to tell us about death except that we are all dying. We lose 70-100 billion cells a day. However, If you are a believer you can turn to the bible for answers.
Paul says in Philippians 1:21"to live is Christ, to die is gain". As Christ has died, so as believers will we be raised up. As Christ has promised "I will raise you up."(John 6:40 and Revelation 19)
Will it be a direct path to Heaven? Well, there are many who believe there is a time of purging of sins before we are able to sit at the right hand of the Father.
It is a process, we believe when we die we escape this world but we will have to have our life reviewed and, that for some, may be painful (likely for all as we all "fall short"). What we do know is that God loves us unceasingly. In Ephesians 2:4-5 "Gods rich mercy and great love are revealed in His making us alive with Christ". In 1 John 4:19 "We love because he first loved us." In 1 John 3:1 "See what kind of love the Father has given to us".
God is in us all, God is in everything we see. God is with us unto death. Revelation 2:10 Jesus said, "Be with me unto death and I give you the crown of life."
For those that are left behind Joshua 1:9 Jesus said, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed for the Lord your God is with You Wherever You Go."
Peace and Blessings this Day and Every Day!
