Meet Amir, a 21-year-old Arabian gelding, who came to Animal Imaging with a long history of chronic nasal discharge that wasn’t improving with treatment.

Through dental radiographs, extractions, and sinus lavages, Amir’s condition persisted, so a CT scan was performed to gain a complete picture of his dental and sinus health. CT imaging revealed the full extent of his sinusitis, areas of inflammation, and even subtle dental changes that traditional radiographs couldn’t capture.

CT is the gold standard for diagnosing equine dental and sinus disease, providing a clear path for surgical planning, reducing procedure time, and improving long-term outcomes for horses like Amir.

Join us in giving a warm welcome to Dr. Julie Wright, our new Imaging Fellow! 🎉

Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Wright earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania and went on to complete an intensive Equine Medicine and Surgery internship at the University of Illinois before joining the team at Animal Imaging.

Outside of work, you can find her hitting the trails on her mountain bike, spending time with her Flat-Coated Retriever, Ranger, or unwinding at the barn. We’re thrilled to have her expertise and passion on our team. Welcome aboard, Dr. Wright! 👏✨

🍁 Meet Maple!

This sweet little foal came in for a CT scan, and she trotted right into our hearts! 🐴💛

CT (computed tomography) gives us detailed images, helping us catch issues early and provide the best possible care, even for young patients like Maple.

She was a champ through it all, and we’re happy to say her future looks just as bright as her personality!
