Located in Frisco, Texas, McQuaid Vein Care is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disorders. Dr. Mark McQuaid has over 20-years experience as a general surgeon and is certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.
Having passed the most comprehensive examination of knowledge in vein disease available, Dr. McQuaid has demonstrated his commitment to quality and compassionate care for patients.

Dr. McQuaid, MD, FACS
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Mark McQuaid, MD, FACS offers his patients the most comfortable, modern, and effective procedures available for those suffering from surgical and vascular disorders. Perhaps most importantly, Dr. McQuaid takes great pride in providing a warm, comfortable, and caring environment during the process of caring for his patients.
Dr. Mark McQuaid received his B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin, and then his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He trained in General and Vascular Surgery at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. During his chief resident year, he was the Outstanding Resident in Laparoscopy when he focused on advances laparoscopy including laparoscopic herniorraphy, anti-reflux procedures, and others.
Dr. McQuaid started his practice upon returning to North Dallas in 1996. His diverse experience includes all aspects of general surgery, vascular surgery, laparoscopy, corrective surgery for venous disorders and varicose veins, and endocrine surgery. Currently, his practice is focused on treatment of vein disorders, including varicose veins, spider veins, leg swelling, leg pain, restless legs, lymphedema, as well as blood clots. Dr. McQuaid’s ultimate goal is the best functional and cosmetic results possible. This is accomplished by thorough evaluation and the use of state of the art vascular ultrasound. Procedures are all done in our facility, using the latest technology.
Dr. McQuaid is board certified in General Surgery and became a fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2002. He continues to adhere to their strict guidelines for ongoing education, high practice standards, and ethical conduct. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, and his society memberships include the American College of Phlebology, the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, the Collin County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association. He was voted one of the best doctors in the Dallas area by his physician peers on multiple occasions.
By focusing on quality, compassionate care, and adherence to strict professional standards, Dr. McQuaid has distinguished himself as a leader in the medical community. He has held the positions of Chief of Surgery, Director of Trauma, President of the Medical Staff, chair of the quality committee, and past Member of the Medical Board and the Board of Trustees.
Dr. McQuaid makes his home in Frisco, where he lives with his wife, Martha, and their two dogs., Prudence and Everett. They have two grown children, Michael and Jessica. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, as well as playing guitar, outdoor activities, and fishing. Fluent in Spanish, he enjoys treating Spanish-speaking patients.
Dr. McQuaid’s warm personality coupled with his clinical acumen and adept surgical skill lead to consistently positive outcomes. His patients will always receive caring, thoughtful, expert treatment in a compassionate environment.

I just went in last week for the first time since the quarantine. I went for a post procedure check up which had to be delayed three months due to the virus. Everything is fine with my legs, they checked out, feel great and looked just fine. I was so glad to see that everything is up and running as usual at the clinic. They have put good and safe policies in place for the protection of their patients and themselves, and it operates very smoothly. As has always been my experience, I had no waiting and was seen right away. Dr. McQuaid spent plenty of time going over my results and the options I may have in the future if any problems come up. He and his staff are just as friendly and caring as ever, making these appointments very easy and pleasant. I can always count on them to be 5 star ⭐️ +++! 
I love Dr McQuaid’s reminder system: 1 week prior,a text with a request to reply “yes”to confirm. 2 days before, a text to remind & to please respond “yes” confirming that you saw the reminder. 2 hrs ahead, a reminder & note to bring support stockings & a driver if being sedated. I appreciate their care to make sure I don’t overlook an appointment. It also helps keep everything running smoothly & promptly in their super organized office.
I've had more than 15 procedures here over the past two years, due to chronic venous disease. I had very unsightly and painful varicose veins and spider veins. I now have greatly improved veins in both of my legs, and they look and feel so much better. I have never had a bad, or even mediocre experience with Dr. McQuaid and his wonderful staff. From the very beginning, Dr. McQuaid educated me about all things vein related, and laid out a very workable plan. He and all of his assistants are so professional, yet friendly and eager to answer questions. They strive to make the patient comfortable and to achieve the best results. I could not be more pleased with the results and only wish I had done it sooner!
