Our mission is to serve persons with brain injuries, their families, and the community by providing professional services, support, and education focused on returning injured individuals to their highest possible level of independence and quality of life. Pate provides the only CARF accredited Stroke Specialty Program for rehabilitation in North Texas. Pate's program is evidence based, and highly

customized to each person we serve. We emphasize neuropsychology for deeper understanding of injuries and their effects on the whole person, cognitively, physical and emotionally. Our therapies include physical, occupational, speech and language, vocational, aquatic, equine and animal assisted, counseling, biofeedback and more. We treat day patients, inpatients and provide a welcoming, supported living home. Pate's treatment system is unique, and focuses on preparing patients to return to the real world, not a quiet clinic floor. Our exclusive PERPOS model allows us to assess and measure tolerance for distraction and structure and create a therapeutic environment that mimics conditions in the real world. The real world requires handling a lot of distractions. We focus on increasing strength to reduce the need for structure which is a key feature of independence. Pate is committed to advancing care for brain injuries and our scientists conduct ongoing research that keeps our program on the cutting edge. Treatment Centers are located in:
Dallas, Watauga/Ft. Residential Centers are located in:

We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Christine Martin, Regional Director of Operations over our Northeast Region for being an award finalist for the 2025 CEO Award but also highlight the great work she has been doing.

Christine recently had her co-authored, peer-reviewed article, “A Home and Community Based Neurorehabilitation Program for Pediatric Brain Injury: A Case Series,” published in the April 2026 edition of Physical & Occupational Therapy in Pediatrics. The article examines RWW’s home and community-based care model for children with acquired brain injury (ABI), demonstrating the effectiveness of pediatric neurorehabilitation. Using data from an RWW pilot program in Maine, the study followed children who received intensive, transdisciplinary services at home, in school, and within their communities.

"Christine consistently demonstrates purposeful, mission-driven leadership by aligning operational ex*****on with BrightSpring’s commitment to high-quality, community-based care. In 2025, she led significant regional expansion while maintaining strong compliance, quality outcomes, and financial performance.

Christine successfully guided new de novo programs in Bangor and Philadelphia, ensured CARF accreditation readiness, and supported complex regulatory and staffing environments without compromising patient outcomes. Her leadership is characterized by accountability, hands-on support, and clear prioritization — ensuring teams understand both the “why” behind the work and the results expected. Through disciplined ex*****on and a patient-first mindset, Christine delivered sustainable growth, strong EBITDA performance, and high clinical standards across her span of control," said Kim More, Senior Vice President.

The CEO Award recognizes purposeful, mission-driven, and results-oriented leaders with exceptional measurable performance across all areas of Operational Excellence, Quality, Growth, and People.

For Brain Injury Awareness Week we want to highlight our Rehab Without Walls Maine Center for Integrated Rehab team wo developed a creative and impactful initiative to raise awareness for Brain Injury Awareness. The initiative was led by Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Alysha Squires, along with several patients. With approximately 10,000 brain injuries occurring annually in the state of Maine, they chose the butterfly — paired with green and blue — as a symbolic representation of this cause.

Their goal was to create 1,000 butterflies, each representing 10 individuals affected by brain injury. These butterflies are being displayed on a large blue wall within the clinic for staff, patients, and visitors to see. Patients have been actively involved in every step of the process — coloring, folding origami, and placing the butterflies on the wall!

Alysha states this about the project, “Watching a variety of people learn how to fold the origami, with cognitive difficulties, or one-handed adaptations was great to see. Everyone was willing to try at least once! Some loved the idea and dove into creating as many as they could. Having coloring pages available as well with a variety of butterflies made this accessible to everyone. We even had someone take the origami pattern home and do it with their parents!"

The theme for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT) 2026 is “At the heart of democracy.” Developed through extensive consultations with regional and global LGBTQIA+ networks worldwide, the 2026 IDAHOBIT theme serves as a powerful reminder that the soil of truly democratic societies must be rich in meaningful equity and justice for all, fostering the flourishing of the entire community.

First celebrated in 2005, the Day has grown into a truly global community moment. Every year, individuals, organizations, and governments celebrate the day with initiatives, events, and campaigns in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ people, demanding action to ensure they can exercise their rights.

May is ; paying tribute to the people who care for more than two million veterans is an important part of supporting troops and military families. But for some, it's also about recognizing the work they do that qualifies them as caregivers even if they don't think of themselves that way.

They are spouses, parents, children, and relatives of the wounded veteran, but many coworkers, neighbors, and friends also take on responsibilities. They provide care and assistance, promoting faster recovery for their loved ones.

We are proud to serve our nation's veterans!

Meet Ryan L.! One of the wonderful Rehab Without Walls patients our team had the pleasure of working with as he navigated his success journey. Today, we want to highlight those successes!

After experiencing a stroke four years prior, Ryan’s life changed in an instant. He remembers waking up one morning unable to get out of bed, and in the weeks and months that followed, he faced significant challenges with mobility, communication, and daily independence.

Before his stroke, Ryan enjoyed a full life centered around family, community, and staying active. After, those routines felt far out of reach, and the loss of both independence and connection was difficult.

Through therapy, Ryan began rebuilding strength and confidence in meaningful ways. His care included functional activities like using his right hand while eating and practicing while dining out and returning to fitness-based activities such as lifting weights at the gym.

Today, Ryan is getting back to the activities that bring him joy. He is once again attending his nephew’s hockey games, visiting family, and looking forward to continuing workouts with his dad. His message to others going through recovery is simple but powerful, “Don’t be scared,” he says.

We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Jay Hebert, Business Development Specialist, for Home and Community in Lynnwood, WA, for winning our 2025 Business Development & Sales Impact Player Award in the Rehabilitation Division!

"In 2025, Jay delivered a breakthrough performance for the Washington Home and Community market, finishing the year well ahead of revenue budget," said John Mudgett, Chief Development Officer.

"Jay's impact extended well beyond individual performance. He played a critical role in building and stabilizing a new operations team, helping them understand referral management, operational leverage, and the real-world impact of disciplined ex*****on. He modeled what true partnership between Business Development and Operations should look like.

"This was the single biggest turnaround during my tenure leading RWW Business Development. Jay did not just hit numbers – he reset expectations, built capability, and proved what is possible when accountability, collaboration, and ex*****on align."

Thank you and congratulations, Jay, on all your accomplishments in 2025!

The Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) is pleased to announce the May 2026 Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month theme, “Power in Unity: Strengthening Communities Together.”

This year’s theme highlights the importance of leveraging our collective power, telling our stories, and being bridge builders in our communities. The imagery of the bridge in this year’s artwork inspires us to unite in our common causes. Bridges represent many values that are prevalent in AANHPI communities - innovation, resilience, hard work, connection, and a sense of belonging. FAPAC invites you to join us this May to honor the AANHPI leaders who inspire us to work collaboratively and embolden the next generation to build on their legacies.
