Month of July Squat 1000 A Day! π π π
Here are some squat variations that can help you achieve different goals ΒΉ:
Bodybuilding:
- Air Squat: basic bodyweight squat that helps you master the form
- Prisoner Squat: similar to the air squat but with upper-body tension
- TRX-Assisted Squat: good for technique practice with less load
- TRX Overhead Squat: progression from the assisted TRX squat that puts more demand on the upper body
Strength Building:
- Goblet Squat: good for loading the squat pattern while keeping weight off the back and spine
- Dumbbell/Kettlebell Front Squat: the load stays in front of you without some of the mobility issues
- Dumbbell/Kettlebell Overhead Squat: requires stability and mobility at the shoulders and upper back
Mobility:
- Wall Squat: beneficial for targeting the quads and learning squatting technique without putting stress on the knees
- Spanish Squat: builds strength in the lower body while minimizing stress on the knee and keeping tension in the quadriceps
- Mini Band Squat: great for learning how to create tension in the lower body and how to drive the knees out
Ankle Mobility:
- TRX Sprinter Squat: targets the quads and core muscles while improving ankle mobility
Plyometrics:
- Box Squat: good for shortening the range of motion and working in a range that you can control
- Suitcase Squats: can be a good starting point for squatting as it places the load at the sides, making it easier to learn techniqueβ¦
