Mental health is an incredibly important part of overall health. For #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we've partnered with VOMO to offer ways for our community to come together and support this initiative.

Check out volunteer opportunities, linked below, to be a mental health navigator with Here For Texas, assist in The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center community garden or art therapy, or help OurCalling — plus so much more!
Today is Mental Health Action Day. We all have mental health and our emotional health can range from thriving to struggling. No matter what you’re experiencing, there are ways to take action to support yourself and those around you. Head to MentalHealthisHealth.us to get started with ways that you can take action for yourself or a friend on #MentalHealthAction Day.

If you're looking for mental health resources in North Texas, you can contact our Here For Texas Health Navigation Line at 92-525-8181. Today is Transgender Day of Visibility.

We know that le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth are facing unique challenges. In the past year, nearly half of LGBTQ+ youth have wanted counseling from a mental health professional, but did not receive it. That’s a startling stat when we also know that 42% of LGBTQ+ youth seriously considered attempting su***de in the past year, including more than half of transgender and nonbinary youth. (SOURCE: The Trevor Project 2021 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health)

We stand with the LGBTQ+ community. If you need mental health resources and information, reach out to one of the resources below or call the Here For Texas Mental Health Navigation Line at 972-525-8181. #TransDayofVisibility 🏳️‍⚧️

Bill Bernat: How to build a connection with your friends living with depression

Bill Bernat, a comedian, discusses on NPR's TED Radio Hour how to talk to those in our lives who are living with depression. We love his use of humor and storytelling to highlight ways we can support our loved ones.

"You're not expected to be Dr. Phil. Just be friendly. Be more like Ellen." 😂

Join us on Tuesday, June 7 for Dad2Dad at SMU! Fentanyl, a highly addictive opioid, is making its way into the bedrooms of teenagers, often with only a few text messages or a few taps on a smartphone. Just a tiny amount of this dangerous drug can have deadly consequences.

At the next Dad2Dad Breakfast Speaker Series, Lance Sumpter, director of Texoma High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, will discuss the impact of the fentanyl crisis and how parents can talk to their teens about this new drug. He’ll also focus on how fentanyl is unlike any drug law enforcement officers have dealt with before and why they’re so desperate to get it off the streets.

Please note our NEW location for June. Learn more and RSVP at granthalliburton.org/dad2dad.
