Stress is responsible for all kinds of illness’s. Including cancer! One of the things we are doing wrong, is drink coffee ☕️ each morning, and for some of us it can be a bad thing. So I looked up alternatives that are also healthy, are the opposite of coffee, and have no stress causing factors.

An alternative to surgery, this new treatment is viewed as the next horizon of cancer care. It has the capability of killing cancer cells that are resistant to traditional radiation therapy. Yet the U.S. has been slow to adopt the treatment even though the technology was developed in California in 1975.
According to experts, carbon ion therapy damages the DNA of fast-growing cancer cells, ultimately destroying them. But unlike older forms of radiation, this technique causes minimal harm to normal tissue. Studies also suggest it triggers an immune response against cancer.
Dr. Steven Buskirk, chair of the department of radiation oncology at Mayo Clinic in Florida, says, "the availability of carbon ion technology will allow Mayo Clinic researchers to evaluate the efficacy of carbon ion therapy for the treatment of various cancer types, including exploration into new and expanded therapies, including multi-modality treatment options."
"Some cancers are inherently resistant to conventional radiation, and we wish to initially evaluate the efficacy of carbon ion therapy in these cancers," he explains.
The plan is to put together a national Scientific Advisory Board composed of doctors and scientists from the U.S. and abroad to study the efficacy and safety of the treatment and secure FDA approval so the treatment can be offered in 2025, says Dr. Kent Thielen, CEO of the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. He notes that his institution is a leading National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, and Mayo Clinic radiation oncologists and physicists have been studying carbon ion treatment in Asia and Europe for nearly a decade. Mayo already has developed a high level of expertise in treatment planning and delivery.
Mayo Clinic's Jacksonville oncology center will also include proton beam therapy for cancer patients so it can offer the full spectrum of treatment options.

Guanylate cyclase C (GUCY2C) as a preventative and therapeutic target in colorectal cancers (CRCs) arising through divergent genomic pathways.

The colorectal cancer antigen GUCY2C exhibits unique split tolerance, evoking antigen-specific CD8+, but not CD4+, T-cell responses that deliver anti-tumor immunity without autoimmunity in mice. Here, the cancer vaccine Ad5-GUCY2C-PADRE was evaluated in a first-in-man phase I clinical study of patients with early-stage colorectal cancer to assess its safety and immunological efficacy.

Ten patients with surgically-resected stage I or stage II (pN0) colon cancer received a single intramuscular injection of 1011 viral particles (vp) of Ad5-GUCY2C-PADRE. Safety assessment and immunomonitoring were carried out for 6 months following immunization. This trial employed continual monitoring of both efficacy and toxicity of subjects as joint primary outcomes.

All patients receiving Ad5-GUCY2C-PADRE completed the study and none developed adverse events greater than grade 1. Antibody responses to GUCY2C were detected in 10% of patients, while 40% exhibited GUCY2C-specific T-cell responses. GUCY2C-specific responses were exclusively CD8+ cytotoxic T cells, mimicking pre-clinical studies in mice in which GUCY2C-specific CD4+ T cells are eliminated by self-tolerance, while CD8+ T cells escape tolerance and mediate antitumor immunity. Moreover, pre-existing neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) to the Ad5 vector were associated with poor vaccine-induced responses, suggesting that Ad5 NAbs oppose GUCY2C immune responses to the vaccine in patients and supported by mouse studies.

Split tolerance to GUCY2C in cancer patients can be exploited to safely generate antigen-specific cytotoxic CD8+, but not autoimmune CD4+, T cells by Ad5-GUCY2C-PADRE in the absence of pre-existing NAbs to the viral vector.

Trial registration
This trial (NCT01972737) was registered at on October 30th, 2013.


Background: CRCs arise through distinct mutations, including in APC pathway leading to tubular adenomas (TAs); in BRAF, with epigenetic silencing of CDX2, leading to serrated adenomas (SAs); and in the DNA mismatch repair machinery driving microsatellite instability (MSI). The APC pathway involves loss of the hormone guanylin, silencing the tumor suppressing receptor GUCY2C. Indeed, oral hormone replacement is an emerging strategy to reactivate GUCY2C and prevent CRC. Moreover, retained expression by tumors arising from TAs has established GUCY2C as a therapeutic target to prevent and treat metastatic CRC. Here, we defined the potential role of the guanylin-GUCY2C axis, and its suitability as a target, in tumors arising through the SA and MSI pathways. Methods: We compared guanylin-GUCY2C protein and mRNA expression between human TAs (n = 18), SAs (n = 15), MSI tumors (n = 7) and their matched normal adjacent tissue. Genetic mouse models of serrated and MSI tumors were used to confirm findings and elucidate mechanisms. Results: Guanylin hormone was eliminated in TAs, SAs and MSI tumors compared to their normal adjacent tissues. In contrast to the hormone, the tumor suppressing receptor GUCY2C was retained in TAs and MSI tumors. Surprisingly, GUCY2C expression was nearly eliminated in SAs reflecting loss of the transcription factor CDX2. Changes in the guanylin-GUCY2C axis in human SAs and MSI tumors were precisely recapitulated in genetic mouse models. Conclusions: Guanylin is universally lost at the earliest stages of transformation in tumors arising through divergent genomic mechanisms suggesting its utility as a biomarker of CRC initiation. These data reveal the possibility of guanylin loss silencing GUCY2C in the pathophysiology of, and oral hormone replacement to restore GUCY2C signaling to prevent, MSI tumors. Also, they highlight the potential for targeting GUCY2C to prevent and treat metastases arising from TAs and MSI tumors. In contrast, loss of GUCY2C excludes patients with SAs as candidates for GUCY2C-based prevention and therapy.

11 Ways to Boost Human Growth Hormone (HGH) Naturally

1. Lose Body Fat
The amount of body fat you carry is directly related to your HGH production.
Those with higher body fat levels or more belly fat will likely have impaired HGH production and an increased risk of disease.
One study observed that individuals with three times the amount of belly fat as the control group had less than half their amount of HGH.
As shown in the graph below, one study monitored the 24-hour release of HGH and found a large decline in those with more abdominal fat.
Belly fat is the most dangerous type of stored fat and linked to many diseases. Losing belly fat will help optimize your HGH levels and other aspects of your health.

2. Fast Intermittently
Studies show that fasting leads to a major increase in HGH levels.
One study found that three days into a fast, HGH levels increased by over 300%. After one week of fasting, they had increased by a massive 1,250%.
Other studies have found similar effects, with double or triple HGH levels after just 2–3 days of fasting.
However, continuous fasting is not sustainable in the long term. Intermittent fasting is a more popular dietary approach that limits eating to brief time periods.
Multiple methods of intermittent fasting are available. One common approach is a daily eight-hour eating window with a 16-hour fast. Another involves eating only 500–600 calories two days per week.
Intermittent fasting can help optimize HGH levels in two main ways. First, it can help you drop body fat, which directly affects HGH production.
Second, it'll keep your insulin levels low for most of the day, as insulin is released when you eat. Research suggests that insulin spikes can disrupt your natural growth hormone.
As shown in the graph below, one study found large differences in HGH levels on the fasting day compared to the eating day.

3. Try an Arginine Supplement
When taken alone, arginine may boost HGH.
Though most people tend to use amino acids like arginine alongside exercise, several studies show little or no increase in HGH levels.
However, when arginine was taken on its own — without any exercise — there was a significant increase in this hormone.
Other non-exercise studies also support the use of arginine to boost HGH.
One study examined the effects of taking either 45 or 114 mg of arginine per pound (100 or 250 mg per kg) of body weight, or around 6–10 or 15–20 grams per day.
They found no effect for the lower dose, but participants taking the higher dose saw around a 60% increase in HGH levels during sleep. Remember it only works if you apply moderate use not excessive overuses!

4. Reduce Sugar Intake
An increase in insulin can lower HGH production.
Refined carbs and sugar raise insulin levels the most, so reducing your intake may help optimize growth hormone levels.
One study found that healthy individuals had 3–4 times higher HGH levels than people with diabetes, as well as impaired carb tolerance and insulin function.
Along with directly affecting insulin levels, excess sugar intake is a key factor in weight gain and obesity, which also affect HGH levels.
That said, the occasional sweet treat will not impact your HGH levels in the long term.
Aim to achieve a balanced diet — since what you eat has a profound effect on your health, hormones and body composition.

5. Don't Eat a Lot Before Bedtime
Your body naturally releases significant amounts of HGH, especially at night.
Given that most meals cause a rise in insulin levels, some experts suggest avoiding food before bedtime.
In particular, a high-carb or high-protein meal may spike your insulin and potentially block some of the HGH released at night.
Keep in mind that insufficient research exists on this theory.
Nevertheless, insulin levels normally decrease 2–3 hours after eating, so you may wish to avoid carb- or protein-based meals 2–3 hours before bedtime.

6. Take a GABA Supplement
GABA is a non-protein amino acid that functions as a neurotransmitter, sending signals around your brain.
As a well-known calming agent for your brain and central nervous system, it's often used to aid sleep. Interestingly, it may also help increase your HGH levels.
One study found that taking a GABA supplement led to a 400% increase in HGH at rest and a 200% increase following exercise.
GABA may also increase HGH levels by improving your sleep, since your night-time growth hormone release is linked to sleep quality and depth.
However, most of these increases were short-lived and GABA's long-term benefits for growth hormone levels remain unclear.

7. Exercise at a High Intensity
Exercise is one of the most effective ways to significantly raise your HGH levels.
The increase depends on the type of exercise, intensity, food intake around the workout and your body’s own traits.
As shown by the black bars in the graph below, very large increases in HGH were seen in a weight lifting session with limited rest periods.
Due to its metabolic nature and increase in lactic acid, high-intensity exercise increases HGH the most. However, all forms of exercise are beneficial.

As with the supplement methods, exercise mainly provides short-term spikes.

9. Optimize Your Sleep
The majority of HGH is released in pulses when you sleep. These pulses are based on your body's internal clock or circadian rhythm. The largest pulses occur before midnight with some smaller pulses in the early morning.
* Avoid blue light exposure before bedtime.
* Read a book in the evening.
* Make sure your bedroom is at a comfortable temperature.
