The City of Rowlett has launched a new initiative called SHINE (Supporting Humanities, Integration, Neurodiversity, and Expression) to provide accessible arts programs for individuals disabilities. This is me and one of my clients after his performance in the Rockwall Community Playhouse S.T.A.R. players production: Broadway Jr. Review. He did an amazing job and it was so exciting to see him shine on the stage. S.T.A.R. players is a program for people ages 16+ who have Down Syndrome in the local area. They do a production every summer, and this is his third year in the program. Speech Language Therapy benefits aren’t just for younger kids- teens, young adults and adults can still benefit from working with an SLP to maximize their communication skills.

Welcome to Hope Rising Speech Therapy & Educational Services PLLC. My practice is founded on the belief that there is always hope. I want all my clients and their families to know that their hope to improve their communication is well placed with me. My treatment philosophy focuses not on what a client can’t do, but what they can do. My role is to assist clients and their families in using their current skills and strengths as building blocks to achieving their best communication. With over 20 years of experience, the majority of them in the public schools, I understand the importance of a team approach to improving communication skills, including collaborating with families, and other professionals to help my clients. Everyone deserves a voice, and a chance to communicate with others. Our communication ability is such an integral part of what makes us not only human, but truly alive. I would love to be a part of your journey toward achieving the functional communication skills that help you be your best self.
