Equest Hooves for Heroes

Equest Hooves for Heroes Equest is dedicated to improving the lives of North Texas veterans and their families by connecting t There is a magic there that defies description.

Equest has provided EAAT to children and adults with diverse needs for 35 years. We are a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship - International (PATH-I) premier accredited site and an international leader in EAAT. Four years ago, Equest launched our veterans program, "Hooves for Heroes". We believe that horses provide a gateway to better emotional health and a greater quality of life. We also believe that our military veterans have all the skills they need to be productive community members, good neighbors, and civic leaders. When these warriors successfully navigate the transition from the military to civilian life, they make our community stronger. To help them achieve this, Equest Hooves for Heroes aims to improve overall wellness by leveraging the powerful bond between horses and humans. But within that relationship lies the answer to many of life's challenges...just ask anyone who has ever loved a horse.

Equest stands in solidarity with the families and communities affected by the devastating floods in Central Texas. While words can never ease such loss, please know that you are not alone.
We are here and ready to support those impacted through our equine-assisted services, including counseling and outreach opportunities. If there's a way we can help, whether through partnerships, school support, or simply by showing up, we’re committed to being there.
Together, we heal.

We’re heartbroken to share that our sweet Ellie passed away yesterday from colic. Though she joined us just a year and a half ago, on Valentine’s Day, Ellie made a lasting impact on our programs, especially in therapeutic horsemanship and counseling. Her sudden loss will be deeply felt by everyone who knew and loved her.
We’re incredibly grateful for the outstanding care Ellie received. Our sincere thanks go to Dr. Arnold, Dr. Gilcrest, and their dedicated teams who did everything they could to help her. As we share this difficult news, we invite you to visit the small memorial at Ellie’s stall, created for anyone who would like to take a moment to say goodbye or quiet reflection. You are welcome to stop by anytime between now and next Wednesday, July 9th.
