When some of my greatest joys come from my time outside in nature and nature is resting, I struggle to rest too.

Last winter was rough for me. Long, dark days that seemed to drain my spirit.

So I’ve been planning, finding other ways to enjoy life with purpose. More coffee and lunch dates with friends. Creative projects. Day trips.

And I joined an orchestra! I’ve played flute since 4th grade. And while I play on my own, I’ve so missed making music with a group. This is a new group of musicians (ages 7 through 70s!) and as we grow together we are all sharing the joy of music. 🎶

Finding a new activity to spark joy…what will yours be?

Have you felt kindness today?

Sometimes it’s the little things. At the grocery store today someone held the door for me. In the checkout line another person invited me to go ahead of them with my two items. Kindness. ❤️

A smile, saying hello, sharing berries or flowers from the garden. Listening to a neighbor’s hard day. Being kind can be as small as this and it can mean so much.
