I did want another bird feeder (LOVE this one- keep reading about getting your own) so that the birds would have another chance to eat when the squirrels are munching.

And since I placed it close to the deck it’s another feeder for both birds AND squirrels. And I’m ok with that! 🥰

(Do you see her mama belly? Babies are coming, she needs to eat!)

This feeder is from and I love it so much! Not only is it pretty (so many styles and color choices!) and sturdy, filling it is so easy and it holds a lot of seeds!

Something we all yearn for, in big ways and small.

Today we celebrate National Peace Rose Day. After WW2 this rose, bred in the late 1930s by Francis Meilland, became a symbol of Peace.

In 1945 it was introduced in the US and was shared with those attending the first United Nations meeting.

Peace was the first rose I planted in our yard and it has been blessing us with beautiful blooms throughout each summer for nearly 30 years!

Oh my! I hope you think about hosting a gathering like this!

A friend invited a group of women to create/make/bake something to bring to a Maker’s Swap. Visiting with these wonderful people was so much fun- catching up with some friends and meeting new ones, eating yummy treats and swapping!

There were amazing baked goods, spice mixes, handmade cards, flowers, plant starts, granola jars, zucchini breads and more. ♥️

Best time ever!!

The nonprofit Environmental Working Group has released its findings of pesticide amounts and forever chemicals found in produce. Data from the US Dept of Agriculture was used.

Below are the”Dirty Dozen” (96% of these samples contained pesticides, with an average of 4 or more pesticides per sample)

• spinach •Kale, collard, mustard greens •strawberries
•grapes •nectarines •peaches •cherries •apples •blackberries •pears •potatoes •blueberries
•also green beans, and bell and hot peppers

The CLEAN fifteen

I plan to grow as many as I can and buy organic from the first list for sure. And of course I give a good washing before any fruit or veggie is eaten!

My crow friend Poe was out front when I stepped out to get the mail in the afternoon. Not our usual meeting time so I wondered what was up.

He hopped into the street and went ahead of me a bit, landing in our neighbor’s empty bird bath, pretending to drink.

Message received, water needed! And a few extra walnuts, of course.
