There is a strong potential of severe weather today Texas!! Stay alert.
Significant severe weather - including the threat of strong tornadoes - is likely Monday afternoon into Monday night across the eastern half of Texas. This includes major population centers along Interstate 35 (DFW-Waco-Austin-San Antonio) east to Louisiana, including Tyler, Lufkin, College Station, and Houston). We encourage folks to have a way to receive weather warnings and know where you’ll go if dangerous weather approaches.

Today is a very sad day for our Hope Pediatrics family. We tragically lost one of our own this morning after a serious motor vehicle accident.
Gayleen was a loyal, committed and dependable nurse. Although she has been with us here at Hope since we opened, our relationships with her go back many many years. She loved being a nurse and quickly became a solid “family” member to the patient and family she worked with here at Hope. Gayleen was a mother, grandmother, friend and confidant to so many. Her peers respected her and considered her more than just a coworker. Her passing was extremely unexpected and quick. We are all reminded today that every single moment is borrowed and precious. Love EVERYONE around you each and every second you can. Don’t ever let a day go by without telling those important to you JUST how important they are. There are many broken hearts today. We pray for peace and comfort for Gayleen’s beautiful daughters and granddaughter and ask everyone to lift them up during this time. We also ask for peace and understanding for the Hope family who is also grieving and mourning such a significant loss. I know their lives will never be the same and they are eternally blessed to have had the chance to be a part of her life and for her to be in theirs.
Rest in Heaven Gayleen Nugent.

To my NICU baby
Look at our little Cruzie!! 💙 He is such a powerful little dude; ALWAYS full of laughter and HUGE smiles. He loves everyone and everything around him (ESPECIALLY his brother and sister). He brings so much light and pure joy to anyone who has the pleasure of his company. It was a rough start though. Cruz spent 294 days in the NICU and that life takes a toll on families that most of us would never understand, nor would we want to. The Rodriguez family knows, all too well, the heartache and pain NICU families have to endure. Through faith, persistence, many prayers, set backs, and victories (big and small) ...they MADE IT!! Cruz finally GRADUATED from the NICU and he has been home for an entire year!! Valerie remains open and vocal about their story to encourage and advocate for other families who are experiencing NICU life. Their story helps other families find HOPE in their own NICU journeys.
September is NICU awareness month. There are so so many stories similar to Cruz’s. Just be a support system to them all. THANK you Valerie Rodriguez for you’re strength and encouragement.
Please SHARE and VOTE UP.

We see you. We do ❤️
I see you taking your kid to therapy while your friends take their kids to football or ballet.
I see you sneak out of the conversation when all your friends boast about achievements and exam notes.
I see you juggle events and meetings.
I see you sitting on the computer for hours investigating what your child needs.
I see you make a bad face when people complain about what looks like nonsense.
I see you disappear little by little but you keep going beyond for your family.
I see you pull strength from weakness with a force you didn't even dream you had.
I see you showing respect for teachers, therapists and medical professionals who help your child and help you.
Watching you wake up early in the morning to do it all again after another chaotic night.
I see you when you're on the edge of the precipice struggling to live.
I know you feel invisible, like no one notices.
But I want you to know that I see you.
I see you push forward always. I see you choose to do everything you can to give your child the best care at home, school, therapy and the doctors.
What you do matters. It's worth the struggle.
On those days when you wonder if you can make it one more minute, I want you to know I see you.
I want you to know that you are beautiful.
I want you to know it's worth it. I want you to know that you are not alone. I want you to know that love is the most important thing, and that you are the best at it.
And in those days when you see an improvement, those moments when hard work has its reward, and you can taste success, I'll see you then too.
And I'm proud of you.
Whatever day today...
...you're doing it right.
And I see you. ❤

During these times, it is important for EVERYONE to finally take a stand, to be heard, and to allow OTHERS to be heard. Hatred is something taught. Racism and prejudice have no place in our world. The time is now to say ENOUGH, admit there is a divide, know that there’s a right and wrong side to this fight, and to take this opportunity to teach our children to LEAD others in solidarity. The stage is ours right now to make a difference once and for all. Let’s not waste it.
Humanity. Inclusion. Dignity. Respect. Diversity. Unity. Love. HOPE.
