I believe we’ve been sold a bag of goods, convincing us that love's highest value comes from an external romantic relationship.

Yet, in my healing journey, I've discovered that the most important relationship we'll ever have is the one with ourselves.

We spend every moment of our lives with ourselves. If we don't create a kind and loving inner world, we end up spending that time with a relentless mean girl or inner critic voice.

The moment I realized that the love and acceptance I desperately craved from others could be cultivated within myself, was profoundly liberating. It was like breaking free from invisible chains.

Take your power back. Stop letting others dictate how you feel about yourself. YOU are in charge of your value and self-worth. And the best part is if you don’t know how to do this for yourself, you don’t have to do it alone.

Have you ever found yourself thinking:

“GOODNESS WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME?!”

In a year filled with my own personal storms—from a scary medical diagnosis and surgery, to job loss and navigating financial uncertainties—I’ve held onto one truth that has supported me this year more than ever:

Self-love isn’t just nice to have; it’s our anchor and it is a necessity.

As I’ve been tested time and again, I’ve realized that embracing self-love is what allows me to weather any storm.

No matter what you’re facing right now, remember this:

You are worthy of your own love, NO MATTER WHAT.

If you have been facing a season of challenges and can relate to this post here are a 5 things you can do to help you anchor and ground yourself in Self-Love:

💖Prioritize Self-Compassion: Do what you can to be as kind and understanding with yourself as possible. Give yourself grace, love, compassion, forgiveness and as you navigate these challenges. Practice these mind map affirmations out laud or silent, in front of the mirror, and while you’re driving. Treat yourself as you would a dear friend or someone you love.

💖Seek Support: There is strength in seeking support whether it’s from friends, family, a coach, therapist or a doctor. You don’t have to navigate your experience alone, and having someone to talk to may very well help to give you some clarity, a shift in perspective or a game plan to work on.

💖 Create Small Goals: Set some small, achievable goals that can help bring you a sense of control and accomplishment. This can be as simple as dedicating 5 minutes a day to breathing or completing one small task that contributes to a bigger project at home. Celebrate any little victories you make.

💖Move your body: turn on some music and dance, do some yoga or go for a walk. Moving your body not only helps you physically but mentally, emotionally and energetically.

💖 Practice Mindfulness: The simple act of returning to your breath brings you to the present moment. It helps you reduce your stress and stay grounded and centered when making decisions.

🎇What sparked your journey into yoga and how has it transformed your life both on and off the mat?🎇
From the vibrant streets of San Juan, Puerto Rico, to the heart of Dallas, TX, my journey has been a dance between culture and self-discovery. 🎶✨ As a teenager in Dallas, I yearned to reconnect with movement and my roots, leading me to a magical encounter with Zumba at MoveStudio.
Witnessing the transformative power of dance, I embarked on a holistic healing journey. Struggling with anxiety and depression, yoga entered my life as a prescription from my doctor. Little did I know that the stillness and peace of savasana would become my sanctuary, sparking an emotional release that forever changed me.
In 2014, a 200-hour Yoga Certification in Hatha and Ta**ra marked a turning point. Yoga wasn't just a practice—it became my passion. Teaching others, I witnessed lives transform through the union of mind and body, breath, and movement.
My personal battles deepened my yoga connection, revealing that it's more than physical health; it's about finding inner peace and love. Yoga became my mission, emphasizing balance, self-love, and inner strength.

🌎If you could guide a class anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? 🌍
If I could guide a class anywhere, it would be back home in Puerto Rico, by the Escambron beach, near "the Old San Juan." Surrounded by history, palm trees, and the vast ocean, this breathtaking view embodies our culture and my roots. It's a dream to share the practice in this sacred space.🌊


🧘‍♀️What's your signature yoga pose or sequence that you love to incorporate into your classes? 🧘‍♂️
Lately, my focus has been on heart-opening poses, like assisted fish pose with a bolster. Starting my day with this posture connects me with my heart, asking, "What would 'LOVE' have me do today?" This nurturing practice serves as a reminder to return to my heart amid moments of stress or fear. 💖🙏

How often do you give yourself time for deep rest (aside from just going to sleep)?

This is something I’ve been doing what I can to make more of a priority the last 5-6 months.

I keep getting signals and messages telling me how much my mind body and soul are in need of rest.

Making time for deep rest is an act of self-love.

Just like our devices, our minds and bodies need time to recharge.

When we prioritize moments of rest, we give ourselves the opportunity to reset, rejuvenate, and show ourselves the love and care we deserve.

So, remember to unplug, unwind, and nurture your well-being.

You'll be amazed at how much better you will feel afterward.
