Feeling good.

Great Hospital.
Great Doctor.
Super Staff.

Spine Surgery Successful.
I had lower back pain for a long time. Two other surgeons sent me to pain managment only. Sent my MRI to NAS and Dr. Esses said he could help me. The other two surgions told me that the only surgry they would so was spinal fusion and then they would insist on retireing me as a firefighter. I was not ready for retirement. I can't believe the differance I feel. No more pain or numbness. Three weeks of no duty followed by three weeks of light duty and then I am back to driving the fire truck. I am very pleased with the care at NAS. The Pt advocate took care of everything with Insurance and billing. Very friendly staff every where I went from Doctor office to Surgical Hospital. I wish I would have done this sooner.
I was told by two different Dr's. that I needed a three level fusion. Well I've had plenty of friends that have had this so called routine surgery, only for them the pain never stopped. I started my search for the type of surgery I wanted. I only wanted to fix the L5-S1 level that I had been fighting for 30 years. I had also been in an automobile accident 10 years ago and my neck has never been the same so I needed a fusion at the C5-C6 level.
Then I found North American Spine. I researched them and they offered the surgery I was seeking.. I contacted them, sent them my MRI's and I got a call back within days, I WAS a candidate for the surgery I wanted. I was running out of time due to my employee based Insurance was about to end. So I asked how fast I could have both surgeries. I had my first surgery October 30th 2017 and my second surgery Dec 8 2017. Yes six weeks apart. Dr Kushwaha and his assistant John were amazing. I was up walking, my pain had gone from a 12+ to a 3 within hours. I was so pleased.
I can't even express the quality of life the they have given back to me. I'm no longer on any pain meds, I can go on walks without assistance. I sleep through the night. This place knows what they are doing. I am so happy that I went the extra mile and did my research.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
God Bless You
Susan from San Antonio
Brittany has helped me to get to the perfect doctors that had amazing results! Both procedures were successful and I am able to have a normal life again and activities. Thank you!
Dr. Badlani was fantastic. He welcomed any and all questions preoperatively and postoperatively while exuding professionalism and making us feel comfortable. First Surgical Hospital was incredible in that they made us feel welcome and at home while offering immaculate rooms. Cheryl, Dr. Badlani's nurse was incredible at communicating with us and getting anything and everything done expediently such as FMLA forms, etc., Our only point of contention was with surgery scheduling, having forms being requested repeatedly, and feeling lost at times in the process. Overall, we would go with North American Spine and would highly recommend Dr. Badlani.
I recently started using one of these to keep my head up / relieve the pain in my neck -- much better than a laptop!

*4-Month-Old Who Was In Coma For 40 Days Will Not Survive Without An Urgent Liver Transplant*

“Mythili went into a coma when she was barely a month old because of a rare, genetic disease. She was kept in intensive care for 40 days and I have spent my days and nights in the waiting room, praying that she would wake up. But even when she did, the doctors told us that her fight wasn't over. Now, she can only survive this disease with a liver transplant, but I can't afford it. I have already lost my first baby to the same disease when she was just a few days old and now I risk losing my second child too.” - Mamatha, mother. After losing her first baby to the same disease, Mamatha is now struggling to save her only child Two years back, Mamatha lost her first baby when she was just 13-days-old. They didn’t know what was happening to her and even before it could be diagnosed, it was too late. Mamatha and Narsing were devastated. It took them years to come to terms with their loss. However, they found hope again. The couple was overjoyed when they were blessed with a baby girl again...

I made a tragic decision to work with this company. I had numbness in my left foot and sent my MRIs to them for review. They said we can help you. You have pressure on the nerves in your lower back, but it may take as long as a year for the surgery to show full results said my surgeon. It was June of 2017 that I had the surgery. I am now using a walker and two AFO leg braces. My wheelchair is being delivered in a few weeks. I am completely unable to walk unaided after my surgery. It has forced me to stop working. This last year and a half have been a nightmare!

Numerous follow-up MRIs indicate nothing was corrected by Dr. Abram Burgher's laser surgery. Their doctors completely misdiagnosed my condition and went ahead with unnecessary surgery. I have ALS though at this point it is only affecting my legs.

I emailed the North American Spine asking to see Dr. Burgher as a follow up because of weakness in my left knee a few months after surgery but was told no because it wasn't related to the surgery he was unavailable. Interesting response.

The time that I lost because of the misdiagnosis means that I was not taking medication to extend my life.

I regret my decision to have ever worked with anyone at North American Spine.
Alrighty, then. Suggestions about these bone spurs? #imstuckandcantturnaround
