HELP NEEDED! Two great ways for Secondary School ATs to get involved and earn Category B CEUs. Data from these injury surveillance programs are used by the NATA and National Federation of State High School Associations to reduce the risk of injury and keep athletes in the game.

When a 15-year-old student-athlete tragically collapsed in Lancaster, TX, the athletic trainer on-site responded with swift, textbook action. Though the outcome was devastating, their preparedness and professionalism reflect the critical role athletic trainers play in protecting young lives.

Our hearts are with the student’s family, teammates, and the entire Lancaster ISD community. As the SSATC, we stand with all athletic trainers — whose training, dedication, and calm under pressure can mean the difference between life and loss.

The 2026 Honors and Awards cycle is now open and the Honors and Awards Council is seeking nominations for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the profession. Any NATA member can nominate a colleague for one of the association’s national honors or awards. Nominations are due by September 15 and applications are due by October 1.
