I want to thank everyone again for all you've done. It saddens me to let you know that Kristi's husband passed away yesterday. Your continued thoughts, prayers and support are very much appreciated.

I've wanted to give everyone an update, but have been waiting on better news. I'm sad to report that Steve has not improved and Kristi and her family were told that his cancer has returned and has spread to the lymph nodes. A Palliative Care Dr. visited with the family to discuss options and Steve's comfort. Kristi has some tough decisions ahead of her. I have seen Kristi most days and see the pain she is in, along with the now added stress of hospital bills already being sent to her home. Continued support of any kind and prayers are needed more than ever. Please forward and share this link everywhere. Thank you so much to those that have been generous who are keeping this family in their thoughts.

Please be on the lookout for Giorgio. He is about 9 pounds, Grey, Black and Tan, wearing his collar and tags. Might have been spotted crossing the ST Francis bridge heading towards the clinic yesterday around 7 pm. Don’t chase him. Call me if you see him. 214-766-3577

BTAC is committed to helping prevent the spread of Coronavirus by reducing the amount of person-to-person interaction in our hospital. We will continue to keep our lobby client free for the time being. If your pet has a non-life-threatening injury, illness, or condition, we ask that you please remain in your car.
Upon arriving at our hospital, please call us from your car and we will provide you with further instructions. If you have an appointment we will come outside to you, bring your pet into the hospital, conduct the appointment, and then return them to you. We will email a full report after the services are completed to avoid further exchanges. We can collect car side/curbside cash payment at that time, or can process payment over the phone. All food and prescription refills will be brought directly out to you as well.
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.

In memory of Lynsey Wharton March 21, 1991 - October 2, 2020
Lynsey worked with us as a Veterinary Technician in 2018 and 2019. She was well liked by all of us at BTAC and by our clients. Our thoughts are with her husband and family during this difficult time. We know she will be missed.

In memory of Kenneth Pierce McPherson.
December 18, 1987 - June 21, 2020.
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint - Isaiah 40:31
Pierce worked with us during his summers off from school. He was well liked by all of us at BTAC and by our clients that had the opportunity to interact with him. Pierce's calm and reserved personality was the perfect fit for working with animals. I know he will be missed by many.

We want to share with you the steps we’re taking at BTAC to help protect the health and safety of our clients and staff members. We’re closely monitoring local and national reports on the evolving impact of COVID-19 and, based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization and applicable public health agencies, to determine appropriate actions to take as necessary.
We frequently disinfect often-touched surfaces such as door handles, countertops, keypads and restroom surfaces. We are asking all of our staff members to follow the CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of the infection.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/index.html
Our clinic is open for business during regular hours to meet the needs of our clients. If we become aware of any condition in our clinic that would make it unsafe, we will make appropriate adjustments.
If your pet is coming for an appointment, you have the option of a curbside check-in (at your request) and can wait in your car until it’s time for your visit.

Pharmacy and Prescription Issues
Just a reminder about why we do not directly approve prescription requests from third-party websites.
This is just one of many examples: FDA Beware of Offers Too Good to be True -- Know Your Source", Third party online pharmacies currently purchase a portion of their prescription and non-prescription medications from third party distributors and are not an authorized distributor of these products.
In order to assure a supply of these products, they purchase medications from various secondary sources…
We understand that while sometimes the products are less expensive than from your veterinarian, there is no manufacturer warranty which would generally cover cost of failed medication and/or treatment if your pet falls ill.
Another aspect of the gray market is entirely counterfeit medications: those created to look like one thing but comprised of something entirely different, meaning you’ve no idea what you’re actually purchasing and giving your pet.
We will, of course, write you a prescription if you chose to purchase prescription items elsewhere.
