We were honored to welcome Second Chance Founder, Christine Montuori, for a sneak peek at SCWC's new facility currently under construction. Chris was able to get an in-depth look at our nearly completed hospital building and the outdoor enclosures that are underway, including walkthroughs of several and a live look at the ongoing enclosure construction.

Chris emphasized that the facility was "beyond her dreams" and that it was "almost impossible to take it all in" throughout her time touring the grounds. We were thrilled to be able to share Second Chance's amazing new home with Chris, and are forever grateful for the groundwork she laid for Second Chance starting 30-years ago. There is still work to be done before we can open, so stay tuned for updates!

Giant 16th-Century ‘Colossus’ Sculpture In Florence, Italy Has Entire Rooms Hidden Inside.

This epic colossus, half man, half mountain, was erected in the late 1500s by renowned Italian sculptor Giambologna as a symbol of Italy’s rugged Appenine mountains. This mountain god, fittingly named Appennino, stand 35 feet tall over the ground of the Villa di Pratolino in Tuscany.

The rugged, mountainous statue hides a wonderful secret – his interior hides several rooms with different functions that made this colossus come to life. The monster that his left hand holds spewed water from an underground stream, and it is rumored that space in his head was made for a fireplace which, when lit, would blow smoke out of his nostrils.
