Tomorrow is Danbury High School’s Annual Forum! ✨
We hope to see you at the event. DHS staff and MCCA’s Prevention Program (Stand Together Make a Difference) have been diligently working to ensure that we have a great event.
Details for tomorrow Monday 1/13:
- The event starts promptly at 6pm with community table displays from 5:30-6pm
The event is located at Danbury High School Auditorium. If you are able to attend, please enter through main entrance at DHS and take a left down the hall (not too far of a walk) you will see community tables and auditorium.
- Students, parent/guardians, and community attendees will have time to browse through the tables between 5:30-6pm
- The event starts promptly at 6pm
Speakers:
Attorney Tomas Leaf will talk about the concerns, consequences, dangers, and challenges of driving while drugged including the legal consequences of students and parents/guardians
Ryan Sims, a recovery advocate from CCAR will talk about his lived experiences of addiction
Elke from STMAD will briefly discuss safety planning and harm reduction techniques
At the end, we have door prizes for attendees!
The event will last about 45 minutes long.
Students attending will receive homework credit and volunteer hours.
If you have students or teens that are not part of DHS, but would like to attend they are more than welcome and can receive 1.5 hours of volunteer time for attending. ✨
