On Monday, July 21, 2025, a car accident on Route 58 East, just west of the intersection with Milton Highway, caused a power outage affecting approximately 750 customers in eastern Pittsylvania County and extending into Halifax County.
Power was successfully restored within the estimated timeframe, thanks to the swift action of Danville Utilities and their contracted company, Elliott Electric of Danville, Inc.
A special commendation goes out to these local heroes from Elliott Electric of Danville, Inc., who worked diligently to restore service. As the saying goes, not all heroes wear capes, but some wear hard hats.
