I’d like to thank Doug Harwell, Alabama State Senate District 34 for visiting us recently at our Mobile facility. I encourage all elected officials, and anyone running for elected office in Alabama, to stop by The Shoulder of the Central Gulf Coast, Inc. and get to know more about who we are and what we do each day. Whether our facilities are physically located in your district or not, I can guarantee you that we treat clients from within whatever district you do represent in Alabama. Last year we received over 900 assessments to review and screen for admission into our programs. Those referrals came from nearly every county in Alabama, and some from outside the state. So, whether you represent Mobile, Baldwin, Washington, Clarke, Montgomery, Dallas, Jefferson, Shelby, or any other county in Alabama, you should know that The Shoulder provides an incredibly valuable and life saving service to many of your constituents. I urge you to get to know us, ask how your county is doing and what types of support individuals and families need in your communities as they battle the raging epidemic of the disease of addiction.
Addiction has touched far too many families across our community. Last week I visited The Shoulder of the Central Gulf Coast, Inc. facility in Mobile and saw firsthand the incredible work being done to help women find recovery, stability, and a fresh start. Programs like this are making a real difference and not just for individuals, but for families and communities across our district.
