Starting a postpartum support group has been on my heart for awhile, I’m excited to finally have a date!

Whether it’s your first baby or fourth, postpartum can be a lonely time. But you don’t have to do it alone!

DETAILS ⬇️
This is a free support group for woman in the first year of postpartum, whether it’s your first baby or fourth. We meet twice a month until the end of December. This is a space where you can come as you are and talk about the good and the difficult parts of postpartum with other women who get it. I have some special guests lined up to do Q&As and talk about various postpartum related topics. There will be coffee, snacks, and you’ll be added to a group chat where you can get encouragement, prayer, and tangible support between meetings. Early crawlers and infants are welcome.

📍Location: 4601 Utica Ridge Rd, Davenport is letting us use their space. This group wouldn’t be possible without their generosity!

📆 First meeting is Oct 4th, 10:00am-12:00pm

Advocating should feel like a conversation, for the most part. If it’s met with coercion, condescending remarks/tone, or just ignored all together then that’s a red flag that your provider is not a good fit. Red flags will not get better as you get further into your pregnancy. In my experience, they get worse and that is not the kind of care you want when you are at your most vulnerable in labor. Your birth team matters. It can make or break your birth experience. Don’t settle for okay, find a provider that hears you and understands that you are the one leading your birth, not them.

There’s a couple spots available for my 6 week childbirth education course!

A childbirth class isn’t just about learning labor signs and stages. It’s about gaining knowledge and understanding so you can make informed choices in labor and postpartum.

This class will give you a solid foundation so that you can go into labor feeling empowered, confident and having done the mental prep that’s so vital to an unmedicated birth.

My maternity leave has fully come to an end and I couldn’t be more excited to start attending births again!

As I enter back into the birth world, I’m making a few changes to my birth work so I can better serve my clients and preserve my integrity as a doula. I will be taking a limited amount of hospital births and focusing more on supporting home births. Now that there are no more barriers around opening birth centers in Iowa, I’m hopeful that we’ll have more options for women who are wanting to birth outside of the hospital in the coming years! If you have questions about hiring a doula, home birth, etc. feel free to DM me! I can’t wait to be apart of your birth team. 💛
