Worldwide, the legalization of medical cannabis has surged in recent years, with its widespread use for managing chronic pain. Yet, the scarcity of randomized control trials assessing medical cannabis highlights the necessity for expert guidance on its safe and effective dosing and administration. Through a multistage modified Delphi process, twenty experts worldwide from nine countries collaborated to establish consensus-based recommendations for dosing and administering medical cannabis to patients with chronic pain. It was unanimously agreed upon that medical cannabis could be an option for patients facing neuropathic, inflammatory, nociplastic, and mixed types of pain. It is an extremely conservative protocol, however the consensus was to always start off with CBD products.
