You should be no one’s rock but your woman’s. If you’re married, there’s absolutely no reason you’re a resource for another woman in crisis for emotional support. Unless you’re a therapist, pastor or educator in a professional context. When it becomes a personal connection, it opens the door to emotional connection to another woman outside of your marriage. Being someone else emotional support can turn into emotional cheating. You won’t even know how it happened but now you’re ensnared in something that might be innocent but looks bad. You can’t be afraid to hurt someone else’s feelings because it’s either their feelings or significant other feelings, you’ve to pick one.

One-time at my friend's family house for Thanksgiving and her uncle removed his wife's wig at the dinner table. His youngest brother questioned why he would embarrass his wife like that and dude said "marriage is a humiliation ritual." She was beautiful and quite educated. I still don't understand why she’s still with him.

I met this chic at Pride. We were both sweating under the sun fighting for shade under the same rainbow 🌈 flag. It felt like fate. It would be my first rainbow relationship. We started dating that same week. Matching sneakers, posting soft launch pics, sharing iced coffee like we were in rom-com.

But reality kicked in. She would get mad if I didn’t react fast enough to her memes; like sorry I was driving, I will laugh at the SpongeBob clip later. She said I was selfish because I didn’t save red Skittles for her. We argued over it like we were in court.

The beginning of the end was Karaoke night.🤦🏽‍♀️
I was clapping off beat to Beyoncé, minding my business and she leaned over and “whispered, This is why we will never work.” And that was it. She broke up with me.

So yeah, our rainbow didn’t end with a pot of gold. It ended with me taking my Netflix back, and she still holding my favorite hoodie hostage 🌈 😂
