Don't forget, I will be doing a live stream sound bath this evening. See you there.

I am "sort of" back. I finally sorted out how to record the soundbaths and keep the sound quality. I am planning a live stream through twitch sometime in the next few weeks and will share that info when I have it nailed down.

While I haven't been inspired to create more for here, I did manage to complete the Chair Yoga continuing ed (CE) certification this evening. One more step complete. Next up is the Restorative Yoga CE certification.

Update: Progress here is slower than anticipated. I have some ideas, and trying to figure out the best way to execute them around my other obligations. I hope to eventually transition into yoga as a career. In the mean time this project is mostly about helping others with their yoga. And that plays into the project I am trying to figure out how to offer. Hopefully I will figure out the answer to that sooner than later and can start putting the idea out there. In the mean time, there may be few posts, or I may spark upon another series for a few weeks as I just did with the Yamas and Niyamas. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Ishwara Pranidhana is surrender to something greater, this surrender can be practiced during asanas, as you surrender to yourself, and the universe in your practice.

When practicing our asanas, we are also practicing Svadhyaya, or studying ourselves by getting to know one's body and mind on the mat, which leads to a greater understanding of one's life and a deeper quest into oneself off the mat.

Tapas (discipline) is easiest to relate to our practice. It is the control of the body and mind during practice, but also the discipline to come to your practice and get on the mat.

When practicing asana, Santosha (contentment) can be incorporated by learning to be happy and content as you accept and respect who you are.

In practice on the mat, this can also be accepting where you are at on any given day with your practice and honoring that place.

When practicing yoga on the mat, Saucha (cleanliness) can have a few places. First when you step on the mat, be present, and keep your thoughts, words, and actions pure as you practice.

Another way that Saucha can be incorporated into your practice is cleaning your mat regularly.

The Niyamas: Saucha, Santosha, Tapas, Svadhyaya and Ishwara Pranidhana.

Over the next couple weeks, I will be sharing some tips directly related to your practice on the mat.

When you are practicing your asanas on the mat, Aparigrapha (non-coveting) can be practiced by accepting where we are, and not comparing ourselves to others, or competing.

Coveting another's method of practice can lead to injuries by pushing yourself too far in competing.
