Father Daughter Dating, It's Important!

How about a cute video on this Friday morning!

Never underestimate the power of taking your daughter on regular daddy daughter dates.

A daughterโ€™s relationship with her father impacts her expectations and behavior in relationships later on in life. It also gives a father and a daughter time to bond and connect, which builds a relationship.

Daddy Daughter dates provide an opportunity for dadโ€™s to stay involved in their daughterโ€™s lives and can provide an opportunity to boost their daughterโ€™s self-esteem, not just about her looks but about her character traits.

-Research has shown that lots of talking with children in the first 3 years of life builds the brain architecture that will be needed later to support reading and thinking skills.โ€
- talk from loving adults also builds healthy relationships and social skills.

It also becomes much more complexโ€”and this doesnโ€™t just happen without outside help. The brain develops as your baby interacts with the worldโ€”seeing what will happen if the...

Dayton is closing the gap on childrenโ€™s mental health services!

Yesterday, we unveiled the first inpatient behavioral health unit in our 50 year history as a free-standing, independent childrenโ€™s hospital. The goal of this unit is to stabilize a child in crisis in a safe, comfortable and supportive environment then connect that child to ongoing outpatient therapy. The 24- bed unit will begin accepting patients on July 9, 2019 and the average expected length of stay will be four days. It was designed with safety as the highest priority.
