Anna Honore, APRN, FNP-C, is the newest member of Westview Health Care Center’s in-house team of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. Anna brings a strong commitment to patient advocacy, preventative care, and expanded access to medical services in joining the staff of the Dayville facility. As part of Westview’s General Nurse Practitioner Program, Anna provides care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings; working alongside Kerri Sauer, APRN-DNP, and James Allentuck, AGNP-C to support continuity of treatment across the organization’s skilled nursing and outpatient rehabilitation services.

Anna earned both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University through the institution’s Accelerated Career Entry program. This academically intensive pathway helped prepare Anna for challenging and diverse clinical experiences. Just after completing her undergraduate degree, Anna began her career as an Emergency Medical Technician in New Haven, CT. In this role, she responded to patients from a wide range of backgrounds and medical needs. Upon her certification as a Registered Nurse, Anna worked in the Emergency Department at Yale New Haven Hospital; in the Urgent Care Clinic at Cornell Scott Hill Health Center; and in the Medical/Surgical Inpatient Nursing Units of the Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Continuing to find experiences that strengthen her abilities to support patients through complex medical and social challenges is a strong part of Anna’s motivation. She has provided specialized care in addiction treatment settings and carries enduring empathy from that work as she looks to help underserved patient demographics. Anna went on to complete her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in Worcester; further expanding the patient population she serves.

Anna maintains a focus on closing gaps in health care access and helping patients navigate barriers that may prevent them from receiving consistent treatment. She emphasizes preventative care and patient education while remaining prepared to address acute medical concerns as they arise. Her approach centers on understanding the full context of each patient’s needs and advocating for the resources necessary to support long-term wellness.

Westview’s General Nurse Practitioner Program is certified to provide care for patients ages 13 and older; expanding access to primary and follow-up medical services for residents of the surrounding community. Westview Health Care Center continues to advance its mission of “Caring for Generations” by growing its team of nurse practitioners and broadening treatment pathways for patients and families throughout the region.

Please join us in welcoming Anna Honore, APRN, FNP-C to the Westview team!

💜💛💚 ⚜ Laissez les bons temps rouler! ⚜ 💜💛💚

🎭 Westview was filled with music, laughter, and festive spirit as our patients, residents, family members, friends, and guests gathered for a well-attended Mardi Gras celebration on Tuesday. The joyful sounds of live music carried throughout Westview’s halls; drawing people in as the party rolled along and creating a truly memorable afternoon for our community of care.

đŸ„ đŸŽș đŸŽč The soulful sounds of the The Dixie Cats, a 6-piece jazz ensemble, set the tone for the afternoon. A heartfelt thank-you to Jim Nardine, who served as event coordinator, performance emcee, and trombone player! Through a mutual musical friend of our facility, Jim learned that we were looking for Mardi Gras-style entertainment. He knew that he and his jazzy friends would fit the bill. As a representative of The Dixie Cats, Jim contacted Westview and explained their music mission: to bring live music to those who can't get out to live music. The Dixie Cats leapt at the opportunity to perform for our community of care and we are grateful for their generosity and heart.

đŸŽŒ đŸŸ đŸŽ¶ The Dixie Cats’ set list ambled between beloved jazz standards and New Orleans favorites. Audience members received sing-along lyric sheets before the concert began—the whole room happily harmonized together in song. Family and friends visited in large numbers on this afternoon, with every smile adding extra sparkle to the celebration. Westview staff kept the energy high with spirited dancing and leaned into the warm, personal connections they share with this bedazzled bunch.

🐠🎉🐟With a little encouragement from the Westview Outpatient & Aquatic Therapy team passing by, the fish in the tank just outside the Formal Dining Room got into the vibe. They could feel the good energy rippling through the scene and swam along with swagger.

Moments like these remind us how powerful music, togetherness, and a little Mardi Gras magic can be. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special! 💜💛💚

Happy Valentine's Day from the whole Westview family! Laughter may be the best medicine—but our staff knows that LOVE is the best tonic.đŸ«§

The patients and residents at Westview fill our hearts with joy and stoke our passion for care. We feel loved to know you trust us so dearly đŸ€—

Hugs of applause to debonair entertainer Jim Porcella in performing his tender tenor vocals for an audience of patients and residents.đŸŽ€

Guests at the party included kith and kin, and as they were serenaded by Mr. Porcella's anthology of classic love ballads, they enjoyed a few sweet morsels. The Valentine-inclined listeners raised their sparkling grape juice-filled tumblers and snacked on chocolate-covered strawberries provided by Westview Dietary. The charismatic crew of Westview Recreational Therapy ensured that this celebration felt like one big hug around all of us.❀

Brian M. Tvelia Jr. earned recognition as Westview’s Employee of the Month for December 2025. Brian is a Licensed Practical Nurse at Westview Health Care Center, where his commitment to teamwork defines his daily practice. His steady, supportive role is evident as he collaborates with multiple groups of doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants throughout the week. Alongside his strong command of nursing knowledge, Brian’s affirmative demeanor draws colleagues, residents, and patients alike toward his dependable presence. In every care setting he enters, Brian ensures that compassion is abundant.

Brian earned his Licensed Practical Nurse certification through Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, MA. Raised in Milford, MA, Brian developed an early appreciation for small-town America and the importance of community involvement. He carries that philosophy with him today—actively seeking opportunities to support his neighbors in Danielson, CT. When Brian and his wife, Mandy, first moved to northeast Connecticut, he looked for local ways to complement his civic life. He currently serves on the Killingly Housing Authority, imparting a direct contribution to his town. His dedication to community also extends into his role as a father. Brian proudly supports his children, Noah and Jessi, in their interests and activities, including coaching their youth soccer and basketball teams with enthusiasm and humility—as he cheerfully admits to learning alongside them. Brian’s altruistic outlook at Westview mirrors his approach to life as a whole: showing up fully, supporting others, and contributing in every way he can.

Since settling in Connecticut’s Quiet Corner, Brian and his family have embraced the region’s natural beauty and strong agricultural roots. Inspired by the area’s family-farm culture, they established a “microfarm” on a half-acre of their property. Their agrarian efforts include a vegetable garden and a flock of chickens—housed in a creatively repurposed playground structure. Brian appreciates the increased self-sufficiency this provides for his family through fresh eggs and crisp garden produce. In addition to their nine chickens, Brian’s family includes two dogs and a cat. As a rare solo activity, Brian enjoys playing drums. While he can play both traditional acoustic and electric drums, he prefers the physical resonance of acoustic percussion. Drumming helps Brian to exercise the energies of the day, offering creative balance alongside the many responsibilities that shape his life.

Reflecting on his recognition, Brian expressed gratitude rooted firmly in collaboration: “There may be an ‘I’ in ‘Westview,’ but it’s important to note that it starts with ‘We!’ Thank you to Westview as an organization and to all of the amazing people surrounding me. It’s an honor to be selected as Westview’s Employee of the Month—but if it wasn’t for everybody here working so well together, I wouldn’t be able to have the same impact. This recognition is a credit to all of the teams I am lucky to be a part of here at Westview.”

Westview Administrator David T. Panteleakos commended Brian’s professionalism and collegial spirit. “Brian exemplifies what it means to be a consistent team-centered nursing professional. His clinical knowledge, respectful communication, and genuine kindness elevate every team member he works with. Brian brings confidence and camaraderie into complex clinical conversations, and that balance is felt among colleagues and residents alike. We are grateful for the dedication and consistent positivity he brings to Westview each day. Congratulations to Brian!”

Especially during the last several weeks, Christian faith-based services for patients and residents at Westview are an important part of weekly routine. Our patients, residents, and visitors shared prayer, praise, and peace throughout the seasons of Advent, Christmastide, and Epiphany. Leaders of local churches bestow their blessings among gathered groups at our Dayville, CT skilled nursing facility according to posted schedules each month.

Our patients and residents are blessed by many representatives from places of worship in the area. We greatly appreciate visits by the many Reverends, Priests, Ministers, Pastors, Chaplains, and all good shepherds who come along to offer worship at Westview. Sometimes: the faith leader will be someone a patient or resident directly knows from outside experience, or the leader may be the current cleric at the church they have attended in the past. Attending guests may have no direct connection to the ministry of the moment at all, yet our Formal Dining Room where services occur serves as a steadfast enclave for those seeking sunlight and peace.

These quiet moments—interwoven with mindful meditation and thoughtful music—create uplifting unifications among many people at Westview.

Sara Maturi received recognition as Westview’s Employee of the Month in October 2025. Sara assists in daily care as a nursing aide at Westview Health Care Center—but moreover—she lifts spirits as much as she lifts anything else. Her bright, buoyant personality is an accessory she wears throughout the facility as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and Sara is celebrated by residents, patients, families, and colleagues alike.

Sara joined the Westview Health Care Center team on October 31, 2023. She has always approached her work with a deeply rooted sense of purpose. Caring for what she fondly calls the “sweet folks” at Westview aligns with the central core of the organization’s mission. According to Sara, that care extends beyond task-based responsibilities. She values the human connections formed through caregiving, and invests in relationships that help her thoughtfully and respectfully accomplish what is needed—whether moments are gentle or challenging. Never shying away from the needs of her team or those entrusted to her care, she maintains a reputation for reliability; often working weekends and answering the call whenever she is available. Her commitment to service is both personal and cultural, informed by values that emphasize responsibility, diligence, and care for others.

Sara resides in Putnam, CT with her husband, David Maturi. Sara is the proud mother of four children—Karen, Jeannie, Giancarlo, and Mary—and family remains a central pillar of her life. Two of her daughters, Jeannie and Mary, have followed paths into the nursing field. Sara hopes to one day work alongside her daughters, united in a shared vocation of care. Sara’s recognition as Employee of the Month reflects the appreciation of those who experience her presence daily, albeit arriving as a heartwarming surprise to her: “I was shocked—in a good way—to learn that I was selected for this award! Truly, I simply come here every day to do my best. Thank you for the honor,” Sara exclaimed. Through her dedication, reliability, and heartfelt enthusiasm for caregiving, she embodies the spirit of compassion and professionalism that defines Westview Health Care Center.

David T. Panteleakos, Administrator of Westview Health Care Center, acknowledged Sara’s many contributions to Westview care, coworkers, and the overall community throughout the halls of the Dayville, CT skilled nursing facility: “Members of our care team like Sara help to sustain the spirit of care that defines Westview. The nursing care she provides is tender while thorough—and she encourages the spirits of patients, residents, and colleagues with her joyous approach. Sara’s bright presence is a boost to all of us, and she stimulates smiles across the whole facility. Congratulations to Sara!”

We count the many wonderful entertainers who visit Westview among our abundance of blessings throughout the year. Patients and residents in our skilled nursing facility have been graced with compassionate carolers all holiday season. A collective of schooled-at-home families was sure to sprinkle their Christmas cheer into the Westview holiday concert series with their own repertoire of festive favorites.

This group of students and their families gather together for various adventures outside of their educations at home. About 20 students compose their association in total; haling from towns all across Windham County, CT. They have formed book clubs, hiking groups, and participated in various other initiatives like this holiday harmony gifted to Westview. Amber Bretton—a parent and organizer of the group—tenderly remembers moments from her youth when she sang for groups in senior care settings. Hoping to instill the same compassionate benevolence in the next generation, the students and their families coordinated a heartwarming performance of classic Christmas tunes.

Donning sparkly headbands and jingling spritely bells, the students charmed patients, residents, staff members, and visitors with their bright energy and inviting choruses. We are so grateful to these students and their families for braving the chilly New England elements to go caroling, caroling through the woods and warm our hearts with the gift of music!

CINDY OLSEN’S HALF-CENTURY AT WESTVIEW CELEBRATED BY EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD

Cindy Olsen is recognized as the 2025 Employee of the Year at Westview Health Care Center. In honoring Cindy as the Dayville, CT facility’s 2025 honoree, Westview celebrates her 50 years of dedication—and counting! She has touched innumerable lives and contributed to every department’s operation spanning 5 decades at Westview. Throughout all of her different efforts, and at every level of her professional growth, Cindy has shown heartfelt passion to help others. Now in her 25th year as Westview’s Director of Nursing Services, her impact expands continually; helping others to help others across a legacy of generations.

On Christmas Day 1975, Cindy’s Westview journey began with the diligent duties of dishwashing. After working for some time as a Dietary Aide, she transferred to Housekeeping and Laundry Services and gained more familiarity with the skilled nursing environment throughout Westview. Her early interests in nursing care grew in these experiences, and flourished as she entered the field as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Adjacently, she started working with patients and residents in recreation, and in 1979, Cindy became Westview’s Therapeutic Recreation Director.

In December of 1980 Cindy set forth in her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse; finding her efforts in patient care to be highly rewarding and inspiring. Cindy aimed ever higher: when she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1992, she continued caring for patients while pursuing positions of leadership. During these years, working to aid the patient population as the Infection Control Coordinator and promoting the growth of fellow colleagues as the In-Service Director instilled Cindy with important perspectives on the major operations within a skilled care setting. Next, in April 1995, she ascended to become a Certified Case Manager for those entrusted to Westview’s care and continued her work for a few years managing the needs, goals, and outcomes of rehabilitation cases. Ascending first as an Assistant Director of Nursing in 1998, she ultimately earned the role and responsibility of Westview’s Director of Nursing Services in February 2001.

Cindy credits her passion for nursing as a natural progression, considering she is a third-generation health care professional. Cindy grew up in the Killingly, CT area with her mother, her father, and her four siblings. She attended Killingly High School and Windham Technical High School to further her pre-college education in health care. She went forth from there to Becker College for her degrees as a Licensed Practical Nurse and as a Registered Nurse. Cindy and her husband Keith live in Killingly, CT. They are delightfully close in both proximity and heart to their two sons and their growing families. Cindy’s son Josh, his wife Jill, and their children Miles and Anabel, as well as Cindy’s son Justin, his wife Abita, and their children Aryanna and Aliyah are all within brief drives. Some of Cindy’s favorite activities take place in the great outdoors: she loves crafting, golf, fishing, and s***t shooting. Above all else—Cindy simply loves any time spent among family and friends. In receiving this award, Cindy acknowledged her gratitude for the principles, philosophies, and people of Westview.

“I sincerely appreciate this recognition—thank you! Over the years, I have been fortunate to work with an organization that truly listens, encourages open communication, and appreciates each and every one of us.” Cindy emphasized her gratitude for her colleagues: “I have been blessed in working with many team members that are truly caring, give exceptional care to the residents/patients of the facility, and exhibit their commitment and compassion on a regular basis. Thank you so much for this distinction!”

“Congratulations to Cindy on achieving the distinction of 2025 Employee of the Year!” remarked David T. Panteleakos, Administrator. “As Westview’s longest tenured employee, Cindy also has the unique distinction of being the longest serving Director of Nursing in Westview’s history. Now, with over 50 years of dedicated service to Westview, I share in congratulating and thanking Cindy for her remarkable longevity and dedicated service to the ultimate beneficiaries of her life’s work, the residents.”

Christmas arrived early at Westview! With the charming splendor of our friend “Santa Clay” and many enthusiastic elves throughout our facility we hosted our annual Christmas party for patients and residents at Westview. Joined by friends and family members, the patients and residents festively dressed for the occasion and gathered as a large group in our Formal Dining Room. Santa Clay went merrily about the room; bringing a specific gift to each individual as identified by our staff in Therapeutic Recreation. Presents were delivered to any residents unable to attend the big (and warm!) central celebration by Westview elves—rather, Westview staff we mean to say—that frolicked about the facility.

Chief Gifting Elf Westview Therapeutic Recreation Director Louise Taylor was certain to tip her pointy cap to the generous donors that helped to create this Christmas memory. In the weeks leading up to Christmas, lists with patient and resident names are posted for staff to register as gift givers. The tireless, tinsel-tufted Therapeutic Recreation staff happily offer their insights to colleagues about gift ideas that each individual would appreciate. Every year, we are overjoyed with the strength of support shown by our Westview family to round out the registry.

In addition to these kind contributions from Westview staff, a bounty of beautiful gifts were donated to Westview this season, and Louise Taylor wanted to express her multitude of gratitude:

“This year we have been incredibly blessed with so many very generous donations. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to so many:

Maureen McNeil, Realtor Re/Max Bell Park Realty, CT, RI, MA—This is something her agency does every year, and we feel so blessed to be selected. Maureen is the daughter of a current patient, and expressed her thanks graciously.

Ida Ransom—She noticed the Secret Santa gift registry for staff posted in the elevator, and called to ask what she could donate. I sent her a list of items for men, women, unisex, and she bought it all! She was inspired to give because of the incredible experiences she has witnessed between staff and patients during her visits to a friend in short-term rehab.

Nancy Greenman—So grateful, and so giving! Also the daughter of a current patient, and felt so moved by her gratitude that she wanted to give back.

Michelle Sparrow of Sparrow Soaps in Putnam, CT—a local purveyor of goat-milk made products, she donated many bars of soap to gift to our residents/patients. On Friday, December 12th her store hosted a Buy-1-Give-1 promotion, and the store chose us as the recipients.

The Danielson Elks—Just as every year, they brought gifts to all of our resident Veterans. They show steadfast commitment, kindness, and generosity to our population here.

I am truly blown away! Our blessings are in abundance🙏. Peace to all!” —Louise Taylor, Therapeutic Recreation Director
