Wonder which one you’re needing more of? Learning about each type can help you better understand yourself and your needs. Here are 6 different types and some ideas for practicing each one. Bring on the self-care!
🔆 Physical Self-Care
Something you enjoy and do not feel like an obligation. It doesn't have to include a vigorous exercise routine. Some ideas: Yoga, going for a bike ride
🔆 Emotional Self-Care
Becoming more in tune with our emotions and checking in with ourselves. Some ideas: Journaling, painting, cooking
🔆 Spiritual Self-Care
Nourishing your soul, striving for inner peace, and seeking to find purpose and meaning in life. Some ideas: Spending time with nature, meditation
🔆 Intellectual Self-Care
Doing something you enjoy that nourishes and challenges your mind. Some ideas: Reading a book, watching a documentary you're interested in
🔆 Social Self-Care
Connecting to people. It may look different for introverts and extroverts because the levels of comfort in social situations differ. Some ideas: Spending time with loved ones, reconnecting with old friends
🔆 Sensory Self-Care
Bringing your mind to the present moment and helping you lower your stress levels. Some ideas: Listening to soothing music, burning your favorite scented candle
One self-care activity may help me, while another may help you. The key is to be intentional in making the time and effort to invest in your wellness. Now go on, get to self-caring!
