Twisted Alley Chasers

Twisted Alley Chasers We are a group of Weather Enthusiasts, Spotters/Chasers. Our #1 goal is alerting the general public. Be sure to like our page to stay up to date.

We are a storm chasing team which has its members spread out between different countries from the UK and the USA. We chase severe weather which includes tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards and any other severe weather event. We make reports to the local governments to give an earlier warning to the public and working as first response with our medical/Search & Rescue trained members, when people are in need after a severe weather event. We stream live so you can watch us live when we're out chasing and watch first hand to your own screen.

Understanding eyewall replacement cycles helps explain hurricane intensity fluctuations. When an outer eyewall replaces the inner eyewall, the storm weakens temporarily but often grows larger or more intense.

🚨 TORNADO WATCH ISSUED 🚨

A Tornado Watch is in effect from 5:05 PM to 9:00 PM CST for:
📍Alabama
📍Mississippi

🌪️ Primary threats include:
• A couple of tornadoes possible
• Scattered damaging wind gusts up to 65 mph

⚠️ Supercell thunderstorms are expected to strengthen and move east-northeast this evening as they track through a moist, highly wind-sheared environment. As the atmosphere continues to destabilize ahead of these storms, the risk for damaging winds and isolated tornadoes will increase.

Heavy lake effect snow continues into Monday east of Lakes Erie and Ontario. In the Pacific Northwest, the first of two Pacific cold fronts will cross the region Monday early followed by another front and an atmospheric river later this week. Each of these features will bring periods of gusty winds and heavy to excessive rainfall with potential for renewed urban and riverine flooding. weather.gov

‼️FROST QUAKES POSSIBLE TONIGHT🥶

If you’re hearing sudden booms, cracks, or “explosion-like” pops overnight, it likely is the result of FROST QUAKES — also called cryoseisms (and sometimes ice quakes).

This can happen when an intense blast of cold air moves in fast and freezes water in the soil almost instantly. As that groundwater turns to ice, it expands and can force the ground/rock to crack with a loud bang.

There were many reports from the highlighted area last night, because of the brutally frigid air causing rapid freezing of groundwater.

Most of the time it’s just noise, but brief, localized shaking can occasionally be felt — and it’s often more likely when the ground is wet and there isn’t much insulating snow cover.
