My 5 habits that guarantee a better winter:
1. Move your body (without punishing it)
Gentle, consistent movement > all-or-nothing energy
Yoga keeps your body warm, mobile, and your mind regulated
2. Stimulate your brain
Learn something that feeds you, not just your resume
Studying yoga philosophy, breathwork, and nervous system science
Plug: Our Yoga Master Training = mental stimulation + personal growth + lifelong tools
3. Eat seasonally (your body wants grounding foods rn)
If you’re in Wisconsin, winter foods = grounding + warming:
Prioritize carrots, potatoes, onions, kale, cabbage, apples, squash, beans & lentils. Think soups, roasts, slow meals.
4. Get out of survival mode (yes, take the trip)
Sun + warmth + rest = regulated nervous system
Plug: our Tulum retreat = movement, rest, ocean air, zero rush in Tulum
5. Slow down on purpose
Less scrolling, more presence. Journal, meditate, sit in stillness.
Winter is for integration, not constant output
Yoga teaches you how to actually *be* with yourself.
