Great news today.

I am sitting at no evidence of disease!

I still am waiting for my pain pump surgery, but it's so good to hear we haven't found any more cancer and I have no evidence of disease left.

An Update on My Cancer Journey

I want to take a moment to share a difficult, but important update on my health. As many of you know, I’ve been fighting cancer for a while now, and after much consideration and medical advice, it’s become necessary for me to undergo some significant procedures.

First, I’ll be having a pain pump placed to help manage my severe and ongoing pain from my cancer. This will provide me with more effective relief, so I can better focus on healing and regaining strength.

Additionally, I’ll be moving forward with a total mastectomy. This decision was made after discussing all the options with my team of doctors, and it’s the step that gives me the best chance for long-term health. I’ve thought a lot about this, and while it’s not an easy decision, I know it’s the right one for me.

As many of you can imagine, the medical costs for these procedures and ongoing treatments are significant. To help with these expenses, I still have a GoFundMe. If you’re able and willing to contribute, it would mean so much to me. I truly appreciate all the support I’ve received so far, and every little bit helps. https://gofund.me/e20ec4ed

I’m sharing this because I know many of you are part of my support system, and I want to keep you updated as I move through this chapter. Your love, thoughts, and prayers mean the world to me.

Thank you for walking this journey with me.

I'm sad to say that my break from procedures is over. I'm having a bladder biopsy this upcoming week and an endoscopy and colonoscopy the week after. Ill also need a bone marrow biopsy and an MRI of my bowels soon. Things are frustrating because I'm not getting better as expected, so there may be cancer left that we haven't found.

Pray for me, these procedures aren't fun.

Did you know that having cancer means scans for basically the rest of your life?

In my case I'll have scans regularly for my stomach cancer and every year to watch for breast cancer due to my CDH1 gene mutation.

We are struggling to pay for things as the bills roll in, so I'm asking you to consider donating to our gofundme.

We're in Rochester Minnesota today, taking a huge step towards a cancer-free life with an esophagus ablation, and I'm eagerly awaiting my next appointment.

Once I have more information about rh3 next steps, I'll let everyone know! Hopefully this means we are done with treatments soon.

Cancer Update

Things are looking up right now. They were able to get a feeding tube back in me without surgery. It was a horrible process, but better than surgery. The Mayo Clinic also decided on a treatment plan. They want to do the ablation of my esophagus. It's scheduled for March 4th, so I have a little break until then.

Complication after complication lately.

Not only do I have a partially collapsed lung as a result of one of my surgeries, but my feeding tube came out yesterday and they weren't able to get it back in.

No one said having cancer would be easy, but I didn't think it'd be this complicated either.

Mayo Clinic Day 3

We still don't have a plan, but here is what we do know.

We found my cancer at Stage 1A, which means it was only in my stomach. Removing my stomach should have been the end of my cancer journey, but unfortunately when they sent my stomach to pathology they found that the cancer went all the way up to where they cut my stomach from my esophagus. This is called a positive margin. It means there is most likely cancer in my esophagus, but we don't know how much right now. Scans are useless in my case because my cancer hasn't shown on any scan I've done. So now we need to find a treatment plan. The doctors at Mayo Clinic are currently considering radiation therapy and another surgery. We now have to wait for the doctors to meet at Tumor Board to see what they all think is the best option...

Still stuck in the hospital. 🥲

The chest tube has drained over 700 ml of fluid from my chest so far. It's still draining too. I'm in a lot of pain, but they are doing their best to keep me comfortable.
