Perimenopause is a clinical diagnosis, not a lab diagnosis. Hormone levels fluctuate all over the place especially in the years leading up to menopause. Trying to “prove” perimenopause with bloodwork is like chasing the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. And symptoms are not just hot flashes and night sweats. They can be sleep issues, mood and nervous system changes,cognitive shifts, issues with energy or motivation, musculoskeletal problems, body composition changes, cardiovascular weirdness, sexual or pelvic changes, headaches or sensory disturbances, metabolic and lab changes.
