You can’t logic your way out of a body that’s still in survival mode.
The body stores what the mind forgets, that’s why sometimes your anxiety doesn’t “make sense.” Somatic and experiential work helps you meet those hidden memories with compassion and movement, not force.

Because healing isn’t about deleting the past, it’s about teaching your body it’s safe now.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’ve been in therapy forever but still feel stuck,” this might be for you.
You’re ready for trauma intensive if you’re craving transformation, not just coping. If you’re open to movement, stillness, and truth. If you want to stop circling your pain and move through it.

This is your next step toward freedom. 💛

Sometimes healing isn’t about talking more, it’s about feeling differently.
You can analyze your trauma all day and still feel your shoulders tense when you hear that one sound, or your stomach twist when someone raises their voice. That’s not weakness, it’s your body remembering what your mind can’t explain.

Experiential and somatic therapies invite your body into the conversation, because real transformation happens when your whole self gets to heal.

I thought I might speak about the importance of Trauma-Informed Care – the foundation for effective trauma clinical work to be built on. The six components of trauma-informed care are vital for all roles - from clients, staff, practitioners, and leadership. Take a read, and if you are in the healing spaces and are interested in learning more, feel free to reach out - and I would love to hear your thoughts as well.

As mental health therapists and medical professionals – whether you are an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, PA, ARNP, etc. our work is deeply rooted in the care, compassion, and well-being of our clients. For those working with trauma survivors (and my bias speaks here and states “everyone has navigated l...

“We all have shame. We all have secrets. Yet when we share them, we build connection instead of hiding in isolation” - Brene Brown. John Bradshaw writes “Toxic shame, the feeling of being flawed and defective as a human being, is the core of the wounded child. Recovery involves going back to reclaim that inner child, nurturing them with love and compassion, and freeing them from the lies that created the shame in the first place.” Healing is possible!

Brandon Lutman, MSW, CTP, CAP, EMDR: Trauma Program Specialist

Brandon has worked in the behavioral and mental health field since 2016 and at Beachway with the Trauma Program team since 2020. His therapeutic philosophy is that the body must be treated in unison with the mind to provide connection and healing. Brandon guides clients in the trauma program toward the healing of both old and current wounds through a gentle, holistic, and client-centered approach. He utilizes cutting-edge experiential paradigms, with an emphasis on somatic healing and neurobiological awareness. He believes in the benefits of addressing core wounds while also acknowledging some current behaviors or actions that might be hindering individuals from having wholehearted and connected lives with others and themselves. Brandon helps teach individuals how to live in the here and now (both cognitively and somatically) and not in the past.

So grateful to have Brandon as part of our community. Do you have a loved one who is dealing with trauma? We are here to help. 877-978-1886

To attune to someone is to nonverbally engage with a person.⁣

To truly 'be' with them, to see them, to hear them, to make eye contact, to feel their felt feelings, to respond to them with your affect, and to try to deeply understand them.⁣

This does not always happen in childhood; and those wounds show up in adulthood.⁣

Who are you attuned with today? Who might be that co-regulator you need?⁣

Expressing your feelings is an important part of any emotional health journey. Yet sometimes when our feelings feel really big or unknown, they come out sideways.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have you ever wanted to share your feelings with a friend, but didn't know the difference between processing and venting? Venting and complaining? Here are a few tips to help you responsibly share your feelings in a way that respects you and those you are sharing with in the process.

Let's tap into your body by standing on our tippy toes, back down, up again, back down; now 4 second breath in, 8 second breath out but with the sound 'ng' like 'sing'. Do this at least 10 times. massage your outer ear (don't put your finger in your ear haha)... and now notice your heart rate, notice your breath... easy my sweet one. Your body is talking, we just need to listen. 💙⁣
