Cold Plunges... You may have seen plunge tubs popping up around the fire station recently.

Here is an article explaining the benefits, science and ideology from the man himself, Wim Hoff. Check out the article for more information.

Dutch athlete and health guru Wim Hof shared details with Fox News Digital of how the Wim Hof Method has the potential to revolutionize health through breathing, the power of the mind and cold water.

You are not alone. We all go through tough times. Keep your head up, your heart full, and a spirit of gratitude that you are even alive to face these challenges head-on.

Rest, reflect, regroup, and reach out to your brothers and sisters. You are not alone.

By: O2X Injury Prevention Specialist Nicholas Schumacher, DPT As a physical therapist, I get asked often: “Should I ice my ankle sprain?” “Do ice baths help with recovery?” “Should I take cold showers? So what really does the research say about these modalities? Should I Ice an Acute Injur...

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and to our Brothers and Sisters in Marion County Fire Rescue on the loss of FF Tripp Wooten. RIP Brother, we'll take it from here.

9 January 2023: **MCFR Announces Passing of FF/PM Tripp Wooten**

FROM THE DESK OF FIRE CHIEF JAMES BANTA

It is with deep sadness and regret that I announce the passing of MCFR Firefighter Paramedic Tripp Wooten. Tripp passed away today, January 9, 2023. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

Tripp was a 14-year veteran firefighter who joined the ranks of Marion County Fire Rescue on December 15, 2008. Prior to his hiring, Tripp was a member of the 2008 MCFR Career Academy Class. Most recently assigned to our Lynne Station #4, Tripp spent many years as a member of the “Hames Road Hooligans” at our MCFR Belleview Station #18. Tripp was an amazingly talented FF/PM, he never met a stranger and possessed a sense of humor that brightened the days of all who came in contact with him.

Badge covers are authorized to be worn for the next thirty calendar days. Class “A” uniforms are to be worn by all sworn personnel attending any related services. (Black ties as applicable.)

The Departmental Funeral Contingency Plan has been implemented and all planning shall proceed through proper channels. As more information becomes available, the public information officer will update the department.

I hope this finds everyone well and healthy. We have an opportunity to walk in the Never Walk Alone event next year, Sunday 1/29/23. However, we will need to register by October 31. I have a code for a discount and can pass it on to whomever would like to join. As in past years, you can choose what to wear, full gear with/without pack or PT gear. The event supports the family and memory of Danny Alvarez from the City of Miami that took his life in 2014.

Please respond to this if you'd like to participate and we can organize from there.

The Ryan Owens Memorial run will be on Saturday November 12 this year. This is a 4 mile beach run (Deerfield Beach)that we have created a team for every year since it began 6 years ago. You can run in full gear and pack, full gear no pack or regular clothes, whatever works for you.
Ryan was a US Navy SEAL killed in action and his family created this event in his memory and as a fundraiser for Gold Star Families. It's a great morning spent on the beach and the race is extremely patriotic filled with great people. Join "Delray Beach Fire Rescue" in the "First Responder Division" when registering. I would like to have the largest FD team this year. Message me with any questions!
