We believe that women thrive with a tribe of women supporting them throughout their pregnancies and journeys to parenthood. We create a sacred space for women to learn and share about their pregnancies. At this Circle Care session, we were honored to have the marvelous to educate our the group on bodywork, nutrition, mindfulness and holistic care. In particular, homeopathy for pregnancy and postpartum care.

The transfer. Something that every mama preparing for an out of hospital birth knows about, yet it’s not paid much attention to. After all, months have been spent planning on this dream birth.
We have to. This is something we really don’t want to think about, but know that there is a time and place for a transfer to happen. No matter where you give birth, there is no guaranteed way of doing so. Our goal for your birth is a healthy mom and healthy baby. A majority of the time, that happens without a hinge.
Sometimes, we have to make the decision to transfer to a hospital. This is not easy on either party involved, but we know that birth is very grey, and it’s okay to have to divert the plan to another route to get the outcome desired for mom and baby. It’s okay for this to happen, and in no way have you failed your birth. We honor you and admire your strength. So, when preparing for an out of hospital birth, prepare for a plan B and a plan C.
For a vaginal hospital birth either medicated or unmedicated, or a cesarean birth. Plan for baby, know your choices in a hospital setting and designate a person who can speak for you if you’re unable to. Plan to be upset after the fact, disappointed even. Plan for the fact that things may not go according to plan, and have people who can support you through it all. But know, birth is so beautiful, even when it doesn’t happen how you planned.

Our Story

Birth is a normal life process. Science has shown that through regular prenatal monitoring and screening most women will, without intervention, have a normal labor and birth process. It is of the utmost importance that the mother’s wants and needs be met with respect and compassion. It is our belief that the family should have an active role during pregnancy and birth. A blend of tradition, faith and science makes midwifery care safe, effective and empowering. We are here to assist you in having a beautiful and natural birth. Midwives are experts in normal childbirth. The focus of midwifery care is to promote a healthy pregnancy, labor, birth and newborn. By the time a woman who is cared for by a midwife goes into labor, she has had 9 months of comprehensive care in which she has learned about the processes of labor and birth and has come to a greater understanding of her own body

Elizabeth has been a part of the birth community since 2010. She is licensed both in the state of Florida and nationally as a certified professional midwife. She trained with every senior midwife in South Florida and has attended over 450 births in her career. More than numbers, her standing as a leader in the maternity care community has been solidified through dedication to her craft and her patients. She is the mother of 3 children aged 21, 18 and 3.

The Palms Birth House offers customized care for every clients budget and needs. Our practice takes a limited number of clients each month. This ensures that each family has the full attention of our team.

Comprehensive Care: Our Centering Pregnancy program offers the best care model for pregnancy while building families and community. The Education portion of your visit is done in a group setting where woman can share experiences, questions and joy. During the session each mom receives one on one private time with the midwife to address personal concerns and care. Studies have shown that the Centering model is the most effective way of delivering care that lowers preterm birth and other complications. Furthermore mothers feel better educated and have a sense of community support. When the time comes you will be welcomed into your choice of birth suites at our facility. Those desiring to experience this proven method of care but would like a home birth can elect to have a midwife come to you for an additional fee.
